Create database links for applications where
necessary.
• Define a database link if you want to define
periodic alerts for an application that resides in a
database outside the database where Oracle Alert
is installed. (To define event alerts for an
application, the application must reside in the
same database where Oracle Alert is installed.)
• Define a database link for an Oracle Application if
that application is installed in a different database
than Oracle Alert.
