INTRODUCTION TO NAIP

The National Academy of Indian Payroll (NAIP) is the premier professional payroll
body for India providing internationally recognised international bench marked standards
supporting Government requirements and business development through
qual ifications and training to ensur e compliance managem ent of the payroll
field.

There are equivalent organisations to NAIP in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South
Africa, USA and the UK where there are established governing bodies and academies
for payroll professionals.

Payroll and Compliance management are complex and important functions within
Human Resources or Finance departments of any organisation. The salaries and wages
component of employee costs are amongst the highest expenditures in any
organisation, significantly impacting the bottom line of corporate organizations and
thus is a key factor in economic prosperity.

It is vital that there is accuracy and timeliness in payroll production, ensuring not
only the correct net pay to employees but computing accurate overheads to
ensure accounting accuracy.

Payroll management has also direct linkage to the strict compliance of stringent
provisions of large number of complex labour laws prevailing in India. Any
non-compliance attracts severe penal consequences. To ensure accurate salary and
rewards are paid on time, efficient payroll management is necessary. This will help
lead to a satisfied workforce and avoidance of penalties for non-compliance.

NAIP is already playing a significant part in the payroll sector and will continue to
build on that success through its dialogue and interaction with industry, commerce,
the workforce, government authorities, national and international partners.
