BTED 3163 INSDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY

PUP Vision

Clearing the paths while laying new foundations to transform the Polytechnic University of the

COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

The College of Education is one of the flagship colleges of the Polytechnic University of the
Philippines. It offers undergraduate courses that prepare future teachers of this country to become
competent professionals who are imbued with the needed skills and competencies to prepare the
future of this country who will be enrolling in basic education.

Bachelor in Business Teacher in Education major in Information Technology Education


(BBTE-ITE)

The Bachelor in Business Teacher Education is a four-year degree program with two
specializations: Business technology and Livelihood education; and information technology
education. For the major business technology and livelihood education, it prepares graduates to
teach effectively across the learning areas in the elementary, secondary, college and
vocational/technical schools the courses in the office and business technology (office procedures,
keyboarding, shorthand, bookkeeping, accounting, business mathematics, management,
marketing, entrepreneurship, merchandising, and computer education) as well as in livelihood
education courses (home technology, food, and cosmetology, basic drafting, basic electricity,
basic electronics, plumbing, carpentry and masonry). For the major in information and technology
education, it prepares graduates to teach effectively and intensively information and technology
subjects across the learning areas in the elementary, secondary, college and vocational/technical
schools.

The course also prepares students for entry into and advancement in jobs within the general
business office.

Bachelor in Business Teacher in Education major in Technology and Livelihood Education


(BBTE-TLE)

The Bachelor in Business Teacher Education is a four-year degree program with two
specializations: Business technology and Livelihood education; and information technology
education. For the major business technology and livelihood education, it prepares graduates to
teach effectively across the learning areas in the elementary, secondary, college and
vocational/technical schools the courses in the office and business technology (office procedures,
keyboarding, shorthand, bookkeeping, accounting, business mathematics, management,
marketing, entrepreneurship, merchandising, and computer education) as well as in livelihood
education courses (home technology, food, and cosmetology, basic drafting, basic electricity,

Course Title : Industrial Technology
No. of Units : 3 units
Course Description: This course emphasis the value of INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY
EDUCATION (Technical Drafting, Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Carpentry, and
Plumbing) in developing skills, unfolding the students potentials in obtaining gainful development
for making intelligent choice of profession and injecting moral values within the lesson in order to
develop well round individual a generation of youth who are well-bread socially aware,
nationalistic and productive.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, the students should be able to:

D. Classroom Policies
 Student’s Attendance (In accordance to PUP Student handbook
Section 7.1 to 7.11)
 Cellular phones - Cell phone use on campus is allowed but should never be
disruptive to others. Please silence your cell phone whenever possible. Cell
phones will be used in class as instructional tool and storage of class learning
materials and other mobile application references.
 Classroom Behavior & Civility – Being an education student requires appropriate
adult behavior and respect for others. Instructor can set classroom rules of
conduct, require adherence to standards of civility appropriate to learning, and
have the right to remove anyone for disruption or obstruction of those standards,
for violation of any law or policy (please refer to PUP Student Handbook, 2013).

E. Consultation Hours – Consultation hours is set by the instructor beyond the classroom
teaching hours to further assist the students in the course.

F. Plagiarism & Cheating – Cheating is obtaining or intentionally giving unauthorized


information to create an unfair advantage in an examination, assignment, or classroom
situation. Plagiarism is the act of presenting and claiming words, ideas, data, programming
code or creations of others as one’s own. Plagiarism may be intentional -as in false claim
of authorship – or unintentional – as in a failure to document information sources using
APA (American Psychological Association) style sheets or manuals adopted by instructor.

Presenting ideas in the exact or near exact wordings as found in source materials
constitutes plagiarism, as does patching together paraphrased statements without in-text
citation. Disciplinary sanction for Dishonesty is subjected to the Code of Discipline Sec
1.2.29 (PUP Student Handbook, 2013). Plagiarism, otherwise, is a criminal action in
reference to Republic Act 10175.
