Since the recession that started in the early 00’s it became a trend to upcycle items for your home, to wear,
and to give as gifts. This trend is now a mega-trend. Sites like Pinterest add even more fuel to the fire with
more than five million home decor ideas pinned daily, many of those tutorials on how to upcycle. This new
maker generation has an active desire to customize everything and strive for uniqueness, breaking decorating
rules along the way. If they don’t see what they want on the market, they will just make it themselves.

DecoArt wants to provide these makers with all the tools
they need to decorate their homes, inside and out. The
Americana Decor product family started with a selection of
Chalky Finish paints, finishes and accessories. Customers
soon discovered the high quality and affordable price-point
of this line and drove sales through the roof. In 2015, we hit
the other end of the paint finish spectrum with the addition of
Maxx Gloss to the Americana Decor family. This enabled us to
