Abstract

The research aimed at designing an electronic content for software


packages subject in the light of quality assurance criteria and measuring
its effect on developing the creative thinking skills. It also aimed at
developing their web development skills and measuring their cognitive
achievement about these skills. The sample of the study included 16
postgraduate students, Educational Computer department. The research
concluded that the presence of a positive impact of the proposed e-
content in the development of innovative thinking skills as a whole and
especially in my skills fluency, flexibility, and develop the skills of
production sites and to increase educational achievement by cognitive
skills while has no effect on the development of the skill of originality.

In the light of the outcome of the results of current research, The


following recommendations can be extracted : There is a need for
designing the electronic contents in relation to e-learning quality
assurance criteria.

1. Study the impact of various tools Bebiat the e-learning synchronous


and asynchronous on other higher-order thinking skills among
graduate students.

2. Proposed an educational site for the development of e-courses


production skills with teachers of different subjects.

3. Personal learning environment for the development of other thinking


skills among graduate students.

Recommendations

In the light of the research results, the following is recommended:

1. There is a need for designing the electronic contents in relation to


quality assurance criteria.

2. The gradual shifting towards electronic subjects is recommended.


Such subjects develop creativity and group work among postgraduate
students of the general diploma, Educational Computer department
within the Institute of Educational Studies.

3. Using the electronic content that was proposed by the researcher in


order to develop cognitive and performance based web designing
skills.

4. Spreading the idea of quality assurance in relation to designing


electronic contents in order to improve the outcomes of the
educational process.

5. Not recommended repeating the conduct of research and studies to


measure the impact on the development of e-content originality within
the skill of innovative thinking skills when the scientific nature of the
material does not allow students access to the products of authentic
and innovative, such as materials that are related to programming and
codes fixed.

The research results:

1. There was a statistically significant difference between the mean


scores of the experimental group students at 0.05 level in the
cognitive achievement with regard to the pre and post administrations
of the cognitive test in favor of the post administration.

2. There is no statistically significant difference between the mean


scores of the experimental group students at 0.05 level in the post
administration of the performance test and the level of mastery is
85%.

3. There was a statistically significant difference between the mean


scores of the experimental group students at 0.05 level in the fluency
skill with regard to the pre and post applications in favor of the post
application.

4. There was a statistically significant difference between the mean


scores of the experimental group students at 0.05 level in the
flexibility skill with regard to the pre and post applications in favor of
the post application.

5. There was no a statistically significant difference between the mean


scores of the experimental group students at 0.05 level in the
originality skill with regard to the pre and post applications in favor of
the post application.

6. There was a statistically significant difference between the mean


scores of the experimental group students at 0.05 level in the creative

rubrics electronic contents.

4. Constructing the electronic achievement test for measuring the


cognitive achievement of web designing skills within the subject of
software packages applications and submitting it to Jury members to
determine its validity.

5. Designing the performance-based evaluation checklist for measuring


Web designing skills within the subject of software packages
applications and submitting it to Jury members to determine its
validity.

6. Constructing the creative thinking skills test for postgraduate students


of Educational Computer department and submitting it to Jury
members to determine its validity.

7. Implementing the pilot study in order to measure the reliability of the


research tools and apply the necessary modifications.

8. The implementation which includes: choosing the sample and pre-post


administrations of research tools.

9. Analyzing statistically the collected data through SPSS v.18 . In


addition, T-test was used in order to interpret results, draw
conclusions, make recommendations and suggestions for further
research.

The research sample included 16 of postgraduate students of the


general diploma, Educational Computer department within the Institute
of Educational Studies.

The research variables:

1. Independent variable: This refers to the electronic content of


software packages applications subject in the light of the quality
assurance criteria of electronic education.

2. Dependent variables: These refer to creative thinking, the


cognitive achievement of Web designing skills within the subject
of software packages applications and performance related to
web designing skills within the subject of software packages
applications for postgraduate students of the Educational
Computer department.

The Research Procedures:

1. Reviewing the literature and previous studies related to designing the


electronic content, the creative thinking skills and quality assurance
criteria for electronic education.

2. Designing the electronic content of the subject of software packages


applications for postgraduate students of the Educational Computer
department.
3. Designing an evaluation rubric for the electronic content of the subject
of software packages applications through reviewing quality

Limitations of the research

The present study is delimited to the following:

1. Creative thinking skills (fluency, flexibility, originality).

2. Web designing skills within the subject of software packages


applications.

3. postgraduate students, Educational Computer department at


Institute of Educational Studies at Cairo University.

4. The second semester of the scholar year 2001-2012, particularly,


from 3/3/2012 to 10/4/2012.

5. The standard document of electronic learning and teaching


produced by the National Assurance and Accreditation
organization.

Research Tools

1. Electronic achievement test for measuring the cognitive


achievement of Web designing skills within the subject of
software packages applications (designed by the researcher).

2. Performance-based evaluation checklist for measuring Web


designing skills within the subject of software packages
applications (designed by the researcher).

3. Creative thinking skills test for postgraduate students of


Educational Computer department (designed by the researcher).

of the experimental group students at 0.05 level in the originality skill
with regard to the pre and post applications in favor of the post
application.

4. There is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores


of the experimental group students at 0.05 level in the creative
thinking skills with regard to the pre and post applications in favor of
the post application.

5. There is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores


of the experimental group students at 0.01 level in the cognitive
achievement with regard to the pre and post administrations of the
cognitive test in favor of the post administration.

6. There is no statistically significant difference between the mean


scores of the experimental group students at 0.05 level in the post
administration of the performance test and the level of mastery is
85%.

Research Methodology:

1- The analytical descriptive method was used with regard to reviewing


the previous studies and literature relevant to the current research
( Abdelhamid , 2005,P.300).

2- The quasi- experimental method was employed for implementing the


experimentation, gathering the data and analyzing the results
(AbouAllam, 2009, P.220).

Summary

Introduction

The research aimed at designing an electronic content for software


packages subject in the light of quality assurance criteria and measuring its
effect on developing the creative thinking skills. It also aimed at developing
their web development skills and measuring their cognitive achievement

Problem of the Study

The research problem is manifested in the postgraduate students’


weakness in the practical dimension of web designing skills within the
subject of software packages applications in the Educational Computer
department.

light of the quality assurance criteria and its effect on developing creative
