Introduction

Solid waste management can be defined as the collecting, treating, and disposing of solid
material that is discarded because it has served its purpose or is no longer useful.

Background of study

1.

Problem statements

Objectives

1. Identify the types of solid waste management from generation until disposal in appointed zone

2. Proposed the best method to manage landscape waste in FKAAS.

Discussion

- Graph 1 show that the most paper has been dispose is on date 23/10/2018(Tuesday) with
313.2g, and the lowest data is on date 18/10/2018 (Thursday) with 157g.
- This is because on Thursday, the office hours is shorter than others day and its affect our
data.
- Graph 2 show that the data for plastic that has been dispose in JRC & MB Tower and the
data shows that on 21/10/2018 (Sunday) is the lowest data with 50g.
- Graph 3 show that the lowest data for metal/aluminium is on 21/10/2018 (Sunday) with
14.8g.
- Both of graph 2 and graph 3 show the lowest data for both solid wastes is on
21/10/2018(Sunday) compare to other day.
- The most solid waste from JRC & MB Tower is paper with 48% and followed by plastic with
46% and the lowest data is metal/aluminium with 6%.
- that paper is the common solid wastes that dispose by student or staff who used JRC & MB
Tower

Conclusion

Recycling is one of the best methods to isolate every waste in one area in this faculty. From this
method, our environment can be protected and rescued from any pollution that can damage our
environment.

The benefit of recycling is reduce energy usage, reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials,
reduce air pollution and water pollution and reduces greenhouse gases emissions.

From the result, the highest collected of waste is paper and followed by plastic. The metal and
aluminium is the lowest collected waste from the investigate area.

Paper show the highest result because it is the main materials that used for lecture in this faculty.
The total amount of plastic and metal or aluminium is 46% and 6% each.
Recommendation

1. put the recycle bin in every level of this faculty.

2. make sure the waste has been collected in right time.

3. providing awareness on the importance of recycling waste in the faculty.
