ISSUES

Apple threat from competition is a big issue for them. Global markets for the Company's products
and services are highly competitive and subject to rapid technological change, and the Company
may be unable to compete effectively in these markets. The Company depends on component and
product manufacturing and logistical services provided by outsourcing partners, many of whom
are located outside of the U.S.
While Apple iPad is known for its pithy titles for their amazing products, there is one thing that is
often ignored, but always important, and that is security. More and more people are adopting the
iPad and some are using it to access business data but how can they do that securely?
When “considering the relentless product cycles, the typically rapid move toward commoditization
in the sector, and the fickle nature of today’s consumers. They are especially susceptible to price
discounting by low-cost rivals”. Apple iPad still suffers from their products lack of adaptability
with other computer programs. Since Apple iPad products “can only be played by Apple store”
Apple iPad’s gross margin pressures that they face “could stem from stepped-up competition,
product shortages, or rising component prices. An unfavorable mix shift away from the dominant
iPhone line could also squeeze profits”. Apple iPad also suffers from their dependency of
outsourcing their materials. With Apple iPad “outsourcing as much work to Samsung as they
have…it’s impossible not to wonder. Apple iPad’s manufacturing to the USA is the beginnings of
an attempt to rectify the problem”. While Apple has been working on “revamping the company’s
supply chain and improving overall efficiency”. Apple still needs to work with their suppliers to
improve plant working conditions. With new market opportunities for Apple products grow in
places such as India which currently “smartphone penetration in India is currently relatively low,
with only 110 to 120 million of the 1.2 billion people in the country able to claim ownership of
such a device, forecasters say this will change very quickly in the coming years” .Apple is also
now given an opportunity to move into Iran. Apple is already looking to move in”. While it is still
unclear if Apple iPad will be welcome into Iran or even be profitable there it is a great opportunity
for expansion. While Apple iPad still has some issues to face and opportunities that they should
take. A device remarkably similar to a stylus. The Apple iPad Pencil is designed to aid users in
graphic design, photo editing and document annotations on its new iPad Pro.

Everyone has trouble with their iPad from time to time. Here are the most common problems we’ve
come across with easy steps to fix them:

• iPad Screen is Frozen

• iPad Wifi is not Working

• iPad Won’t Connect to iTunes

• iPad Will Not Charge

• iPad Will Not Power On

RISKS

The risk of using the iPad in the enterprise. While an iPad may provide a bump in productivity it
also provides another portal for hackers and thieves. The problems range from a lack of uniformity
in software to protect from hacking to general nonchalant behavior among employees about the
protection of their iPads. One of the major pitfalls of the iPad is the relative dearth of protective
apps in Apple iPad’s otherwise immense app store. Also, those apps that are available for
protecting an iPad are not uniform. Apple iPad does scrutinize apps that appear in the app store,
but their net is not without holes, and an app that has malicious intent may slip through the cracks.
Even if there was uniformity within applications concerning security, there is not uniformity
between users. Much of this has to do with the perception of the device. If users were to treat their
iPads less like a magazine or a newspaper and more like a company computer, the need for more
than the out-of-the-box security would be clear. Users and administrators should be aware of that
can increase the security of the iPad. Locking the device. The iPad can be configured to lock the
screen at a predefined interval similar to the screensaver setting on a computer. When the device
is locked a password is needed to unlock the device. The iPad can also be configured to delete all
data if an incorrect password is entered too many times. Encryption. iPad data can be encrypted
however the encryption used on the iPad is currently vulnerable to some attacks. Still, an encrypted
iPad is better than an unencrypted one and we await patches from Apple iPad to resolve the
vulnerabilities.

Some users desire features that are not included in the official iPad operating system so they go
through a process called “jailbreaking” where a new operating system is loaded onto the device or
the operating system is modified so that these features become available. In the process of
jailbreaking the device, however, many new security holes can be created and it is difficult to
update the device when newer versions or patches are released. Newer versions and patches often
correct recently discovered vulnerabilities so those that have been jailbroken will be susceptible to
these vulnerabilities. Sharing. The iPad is a single user device. It does not have the capability of
letting multiple users log onto it so if the device is shared with someone else all the data will be
available to them. If possible, do not share an iPad that is used for work purposes with others. As
the popularity of the iPad continues to increase more and more companies will be faced with the
struggle to secure the data users access via iPads. Executives and employees need to think outside
of just the productivity and the coolness appeal of the iPad and look at the security concerns of the
device. The tips here can help. Consider educating your employees on iPad security best practices.
Apple iPad's new iPad Air and Retina iPad mini have widely been called the best tablets ever to
have debuted in their respective categories. In the 10-inch range, the Air is the fastest and lightest
slate yet. In the 8-inch range, the Retina iPad mini is also the best-reviewed tablet ever to have
launched. Many industry watchers expect on-year iPad sales to grow by a double-digit percentage
in the current quarter and in the September quarter this year, the iPad brought in more than $6.1
billion in revenue for Apple iPad.

The tablet simply isn't a 'must-have' device,. iPad sales and that tablets in general are at risk from
sales of smartphones, phablets... and PCs. The tablet simply isn't a "must-have" device, he
explained. "The smartphone is best at keeping people in contact with friends and family. The PC's
differentiation is to do work with productivity apps. The tablet is particularly good at
entertainment, Content creation is the tablet's Achilles heel. So far Apple iPad appears okay with
that, but an alternative is to develop a convertible product aimed at a different job to be done." it
would seem, is a netbook. Also Apple is losing tablet market share very quickly as white box
vendors gain steam,. the fact that the iPad is "not on the same growth curve as the iPhone at a
similar point since introduction." If the measure of the iPad's success is growth versus the iPhone.
Then again, the tablet market as we know it today is three years old. Whereas the iPhone broke
into an established market and stole business from other companies as people who already owned
cell phones upgraded to the iPhone, the iPad broke new ground. Sure it's stealing some sales from
the PC market, but many who buy the iPad or any other tablet are not replacing a device from a
different category. Instead, they're spending money that they would not have otherwise spent

A teardown of Apple iPad Air 2 turned up a surprise: an NFC module. According to iFixit, the
NXP 65V10 NFC Controller is the same one that Apple uses for Apple iPad Pay in its iPhone 6
and iPhone 6 Plus. The same chip also appears inside Apple iPad mini 3, iFixit found in its
teardown of the smaller tablet. Apple iPad Pay lets users check out at retail stores by tapping their
phones against a payment terminal, but that feature isn't currently available to iPad users. While
some reviews speculated that the new iPads simply lacked the necessary NFC chip, iFixit's
teardown proves otherwise. It's unclear why Apple iPad hasn't enabled Apple iPad Pay checkouts
on the iPad, though it could be a bit awkward to brandish a tablet at the cash register. Apple iPad
wouldn't throw in an NFC chip if it didn't plan to use it somehow. This could be a sign that Apple
iPad plans to open up NFC to more uses in the future, such as smart home controls or secure money
transfers between iOS devices. Perhaps it could even allow iPad-based payment terminals to accept
Apple iPad Pay. Whatever the case, at least new iPad buyers will be future-proofed.
