Note: The Manitoba Government uses the Hay position description form for Financial Officer (FI),
and Information Technology (IS) positions as well as those in the Professional Officer pay plan. All
other positions with the exception of Senior Management (XM, EX, EM) positions require the General

DIMENSIONS
Number of positions including full direct supervisory responsibilities, based on the number of people
(approved FTEs) & salary dollars, the annual budget of the Division and budget under direct control
of position operating, capital and “other” figures to be shown separately. Full direct supervisory
responsibilities may include conducting annual employee reviews, discussing performance
expectations, providing feedback; recommending merit increases; approving vacation leave,
overtime, issuing and approving or recommending disciplinary action; participating in staffing and
recruitment; establishing quality and quantity standards & reviewing employee’s work to ensure
standards are being met; establishing work priorities; planning & assigning work; etc.
