TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION FOR

BARREL RECLAIMER FOR SINTER MIX

YARD

01.0 INTENT OF SPECIFICATION

The purpose of the general specification is to provide the Tenderer with certain
general information on the location and conditions existing at site and to lay
down common guidelines and specifications which the tenderer shall follow in
designing of the plant and during execution of work as applicable as per his
scope of work.

Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP), Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) under
modernization scheme aim to achieve a hot metal production target of 3.5 Mtpa.

MECON LIMITED have been appointed by the Purchaser for rendering the detailed
engineering and consultancy services for setting up the project,

In order to achieve the above target various existing facilities is upgraded and
new units are planned to be added.

For ensuring consistent quality of Sinter, the plant is equipped with Sinter base
mix preparation Yard consisting of two nos. parallel 30m wide beds, one slew
stacker, one Twin bucket type blender reclaimer and a transfer car.

Presently the single Blender Reclaimer serves both the beds and transfer to a
different bed is achieved through the transfer car.

To achieve enhanced requirement of Sinter Mix after expansion, as well as to

increase the system reliability, it has been decided to add another Barrel wheel type
blender reclaimer in the existing system to run over the existing rails and reclaim
material on the existing conveyor J42C3.

After addition of the new barrel type reclaimer, the two reclaimers (One new + one
existing) shall be working on individual beds and no transfer of beds has been
envisaged.

This specification covers design, manufacture,
fabrication/ assembly, shop
testing, painting, supply for site, unloading and storage at site, loading and

transportation from stores to erection site, unloading at erection site,

erection, testing and commissioning of 1 no. Barrel type blender Reclaimer

complete with electrical equipment and standard accessories as covered

under this specification and enclosed layout drawing no.
