ASSIGNMENT #1

1. What is the potential role of entrepreneur in the era of climate change?

• Because dealing with climate change will require far-reaching economic and social
transformations, entrepreneurs have the potential to play a significant role in developing
climate technologies that can help communities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt
to climate change.

2. What is the difference between social entrepreneurs and business entrepreneur?

• The social entrepreneur’s chief emphasis is the communal and/or ecological health and well
being. Once they realize an obstacle in the local community, surroundings, or methods of the
people, they seize actions toward helping resolve that drawback. The central end goal for the
social entrepreneur is not fortune or profit. Instead, they prioritize way more on serving the
wants and needs of the local community in a much more versatile method. Often times, they
will involve themselves in their jobs with very little financial resources, whilst furthermore
making a significant difference on society.

• Business entrepreneurs focus more on the profit and wealth side. Their main goal is to satisfy
customer needs, provide growth for shareholders, expand the influence of their business, and to
expose their business to the greatest number of individuals as they are able to. Commonly,
some might neglect the ecological outcomes of their habits. The most important priority for the
business entrepreneur is to earn revenue. They have to obtain revenue to enable them to
essentially keep on delivering assistance or products to the clientele, care for themselves and
their households, and provide for their business’ progress.
3. What is the difference between entrepreneurs and small business manager ?

• As an entrepreneur, you are the dynamic force behind the planning and launching of new
business enterprises. You may be involved in all aspects of your company throughout its life
span, beginning with the raw startup stage, when the venture is little more than an idea. You
handle issues ranging from the company's product design to determining the most efficient
production methods and even finding the company's first customers.

• In contrast, a small-business manager is someone you hire to handle the day-to-day

management of your startup. The manager’s goal is to keep your company growing and
operating efficiently. In some cases, you may bring in a skilled small-business manager to build
your company into a larger entity. This typically happens after you realize that your creative
vision only take your company so far, and having an experienced manager on board to direct
day-to-day operations will allow the business to continue to grow.

4. Briefly discuss what is meant by the term 'entrepreneurship' ?

• Entrepreneurship is the act of creating a business or businesses while building and scaling it to
generate a profit. However, as a basic entrepreneurship definition, it’s a bit limiting. The more
modern entrepreneurship definition is also about transforming the world by solving big
problems. Like initiating social change, creating an innovative product or presenting a new life-
changing solution.

• What the entrepreneurship definition doesn’t tell you is that entrepreneurship is what people
do to take their career and dreams into their hands and lead it in the direction of their own
choice. It’s about building a life on your own terms. No bosses. No restricting schedules. And no
one holding you back. Entrepreneurs are able to take the first step into making the world a
better place, for everyone in it.
5. Why do we use the french word instead of an English equivalent?

• Speaking a new language helps you to get to know other people and their culture, as language
and culture go hand in hand. Because language simultaneously defines and is defined by the
world around us, learning another language opens one's mind to new ideas and new ways of
looking at the world.

6. Is there a distinction between 'enterprising' and 'entrepreneurial' in your language? If so, what is it?

• The difference between enterprising and entrepreneurial is that enterprising is displaying

bravery and daring in the attempt of some task while entrepreneurial is having the spirit,
attitude or qualities of an entrepreneur; enterprising.

7. How were entrepreneurs historically viewed? What challenges did they face throughout the history?

• A Brief History of Entrepreneurship charts how the pursuit of profit by private individuals has
been a prime mover in revolutionizing civilization. Entrepreneurs often butt up against
processes, technologies, social conventions, and even laws. So they circumvent, innovate, and
violate to obtain what they want. This creative destruction has brought about overland and
overseas trade, colonization, and a host of revolutionary technologies—from caffeinated
beverages to the personal computer—that have transformed society.

8. What personal gain do you expect out of your entrepreneurship education?

• Studying entrepreneurship benefits students and learners from different social and economic
backgrounds because it teaches people to cultivate unique skills and think outside the box.
Moreover, it creates opportunity, instills confidence, ensures social justice and stimulates the
economy. Entrepreneurship education also provides budding entrepreneurs with the skills and
knowledge to come up with business ideas and develop their own ventures. And this includes
helping them to learn about core business areas such as finance, sales, marketing, management
and accounting, not to mention, broader ranging skills such as adaptability, effective
communication, and confidence.
