About the Utah Governor’s Office of Management and Budget (GOMB)

gomb.utah.gov

The mission of the Governor’s Office of Management and Budget (GOMB) is to create more value for every tax dollar invested.
Gov. Herbert charged GOMB to work with state agencies to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. As of Dec. 2016,
Utah improved government performance by 27 percent, exceeding the Governor’s 25 percent goal. The work to improve
government is never over, and the focus has now shifted to targeted improvements at specific agencies. GOMB also manages the
state’s budget. The office combines operational excellence tools and fiscally responsible budgeting practices to meet the growing
demand for state services.
