1. INTRODUCTION
This preventive maintenance of Power Transformer has been Conducted to follow
up scheduled maintenance every two year beside to follow up BDV test Of oil filled
Transformer PT6100, PT9000A and PT9000B. The Test shows that BDV of the
transformers are below then standard 40KV/2mm.
1.1 SCOPE
Scope of activity
Preventive Maintanace and Filled oil of KEI’s Power Transformer that consist of :
a. Filled oil and Preventive Maintanance PT6100
b. Filled oi and Preventive Maintanance l PT9000A
c. Filled oil and Preventive Maintanance PT9000B
1.2 PURPOSE
To filled oil and preventive Maintanance of KEI’s Power Transformer
1.3 ACTIVITIES
Activity of Oil filled Transformer (PT6100, PT9000A and PT9000B) consict of :
a) Filled oil and Treatment
b) Measurement (Ratio, Insulation Resistance, and Resistance Winding )
c) Replace Gasket both of HV and LV enclosure
d) Check whole instrument
e) Cleaning Dan Tightning used Torque Wrench

a. TRANSFORMER TURN RASIO ( TTR )
The Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR) method compares the test transformer ratio
with an adjustable-ratio standard transformer by using a null balance detector to determine
when the standard transformer ratio is the same as the test transformer. During test
procedures transformer polarity is determined by comparison with the standard
transformer. In this activity of measurement used Transformer Ratio Turn (TTR) Biddle
550005.
5
b. INSULATION RESISTANCE
6
For the polarization index (PI) calculate the ratio of the ten-minute reading to the
oneminute reading (10 min. / 1 min.). Good insulation will yield a PI above two, and below
one for poor condition insulation. A PI between one and two is considered marginal. PI
values are most useful when the 10-minute Megger reading is low. When the Megger
reading is high but the PI is low, the low PI value should be ignored. Simply put, some
transformers just have a higher than normal one-minute.
The resistance of the test wires used to measure winding resistance should be
measured immediately upon completing the test. Temperature changes within a half-hour
may cause the test-wire resistance to change enough to result in a significant error when
calculating the winding-resistance value. The testlead resistance is subtracted from the total
measurement to obtain actual resistance. Transformer winding resistance is often less than
the resistance of the test lead so the leads can add significant error. Because resistance is
affected by temperature, be sure to record the transformer temperature at the time of the
resistance test. At minimum, measure transformer winding resistance both at the tap, which
places the maximum amount of winding or turns in the circuit, and at the nominal tap. If
time permits, every tap position should be bridged for resistance. Fig. 1.3 shows the
preferred test circuit connection for DC resistance measurements on transformer windings
using a Wheatstone bridge.
Summary of DC Resistance Measurement Procedures
1. Observe all safety rules.
2. Measure winding temperature.
3. Wheatstone Bridge (windings >1 Ω)
o Check condition of internal batteries
o Adjust Galvanometer to reference null mark
o Use test leads with 0.1 Ω or less
o Bridge test leads
o Make a low-resistance connection to bushing terminals
o Make temperature measurements of the winding
o If applicable, operate the tap changer several times
o Measure bridge winding plus test-lead resistance
7
o Subtract test-lead resistance and compare with factory test data
o Record temperature and resistance data on the test form
o When disconnecting test leads, do not become in series with the test lead
o and winding terminal
1. HV test
2. LV test

d. Breakdown Voltage Oil
To asses the insulating property of dielectric transformer oil, a sample of the
transformer oil is taken and its breakdown voltage is measured.
1. Transformer oil is filled in the tank of testing device. Two standard compliant
test electrodes with typical clearance of 2mm are surrounded by dielectric oil.
2. A test voltage is applied to electrodes and is countinuously increased up to
breakdown voltage with constan.
3. At instant after ignition of the arc, the test voltage is switch off automatically
by the testing device.
4. Transformer oil testing device measures and report the root mean square value
of breakdown voltage.
5. After transformer oil test is complited, the insulation oil is stirred automatically
and test sequence is performed repeatedly. Typically 6 repetitions
6. As a result the breakdown voltage is calculated as mean value of the individual
measurements.
