Detailed Lesson Plan in English for Grade 10

I. Objectives

After the lesson the students will be able to;

 identify the different types of public speech,


 value the benefit of being a good public speaker,
 create their own public speech.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Public Speaking

Reference: Communication Language (Book) pg. 46-50

Materials: PowerPoint Presentation, Audio Visual, Projector and Laptop

Value Focus: Cooperation

 Prayer
“Class, let us all stand and put
ourselves in the presence of the
Lord as we pray.”
“Benjie, please lead the prayer.”
(Benjie leads the prayer)
 Greetings
“Good morning class!”
“Good morning mam!”
“How are you today?’
(Students answer)
 Class Agreement
“As we go on to our formal and
very interesting discussion I want
you to know first that we have
some agreements that should be
followed:
1. Sit properly
2. Listen and participate to the
discussion
3. Raise your right hand if you
want to Ask question and
clarification.
Understand?”
(“Yes, mam!)
 Checking of attendance
“Okay class who’s absent today?”

“Ms. Secretary kindly check the


attendance.”
(“Yes, mam!)
B. Review
“We had already finished discussing
about nouns. Before we move on to the
next topic, let us have a recall of what are
the nouns?”
“Nouns are words that name a person, a place,
or a thing.”
“Very good!”
“Any questions about noun?”
No, mam!”
C. Motivation
“I will group you into 3, one
representative will pick a scenario and
present it on the class. I give you three
minutes to collaborate and present it in
front of the class, okay?”
“Yes mam”
“Ok, let’s start the presentation, let’s start
in group 1.”
(Group 1 will start their presentation.)
“Ok, thank you group 1, let’s see the
presentation of group 2.”
(Group 2 will start their presentation.)
“Ok, thank you group 2, let’s move on to
group 3.”
(Group 3 will start their presentation.)
“Ok, Very good presentation group 3.”

public speaking, I want you to identify
each and tell me the importance of it.”
