Active Repeater LR features

 RS232 serial interface – command prompt

 Max IF cable att. 6dB (example: 20m LMR400 cable)
 IF frequencies 2505 ... 2715MHz
 Built-in lighting and surge protection with separate DC port
 Input DC voltage -40.5V to -57V DC
 Max power consumption 40W per unit @ 6GHz
 Rx input level -25 ... – 65dBm
Pairing and
identifying Active
Repeater LR units

 Repeater unit Intermediate Frequency

(IF) ports need to be cross-connected
with 50 Ohm coaxial cables:
• Tx <- -> Rx
• Rx <- -> Tx
 Both repeater site units are provided
as pair
 All Active Repeater LR units are pre-
configured for each site individualy:
• No configuration required
• Plug-n-play
Pairing and
identifying Active
Repeater LR units
In case of Repeater FODU site pair
disarrangement following indications
must be noticed:
 IF frequency identification digits in
Product Numbers (P/N)
 IF frequency identification digits
represent IF transmit and receive
frequency arrangement
 User must interconnect Active
Repeater LR radio units that contain
the same digits in reverse order
 Valid interconnection examples:
• I07R1220HA ↔ I07R2120HA
• I18R3120HB ↔ I23R1320LB
 Invalid interconnection examples:
• I07R1220HA ↔ I07R1220HA
• I23R3120HB ↔ I18R1220LA
Power supply
requirements

 Power supply voltage range must be

between 40.5-57 V DC
 2-wire outdoor cable with 2-pin LTW
DC connector
 Any polarity layout can be used
Cable
requirements
Active Repeater LR unit interconnection
cable:
 50 Ohm coaxial cable
 Cable should be equipped with N-type
male connectors on each end
 The attenuation of the signal should
not exceed 6 dB at 2.7 GHz frequency
(LMR-400 type coaxial cable length
may reach 20 m)

RS-232 Serial Connection cable:

 Requires a twisted pair (TP) cable
with common shield
 The cable must be equipped Twin-
BNC connector and DB-9 serial
connector
 Using a proper cable, the operation is
guaranteed for up to 33 ft. (10m) of
cable
Accessing Active
Repeater LR unit

 RS-232 serial connection cable must

be used for accessing management
terminal of Active Repeater LR unit via
Twin-BNC connector on it
 Management terminal provides
command line functionality
 Hyper terminal or Putty can be used
for accessing management termianl
Configuring Active Repeater LR unit

Command prompt
Configuring
Active Repeater
LR unit
Configuration steps to be followed in this
sequence:
 Set channel bwndwidth
 Set modulation that will be used for
retransmission
 Set Tx/Rx frequencies manually to
confirm with RF link partner
 Set Tx power
 Verify settings with command «stat»

Notes:
 Command settings are being enabled
instantly and stored. No need to
additionally save the configuration
 In case of entering an incorrect
command argument or value, a
response will be provided with a
range of parameters available for
configuring
Active Repeater
LR installation

 Connect Active Repeater LR units to

existing antennas using waveguide or
coaxial cable
 Note polarizations when connecting
repeater unit to the waveguide and
antenna
 In case of 6GHz (N-Type connectors)
polarization is determined by antenna
and should be same on both sides of
the link
 Notice O-ring should be properly
installed in the groove
Active repeater LR interconnection and filter
connection

All Active repeater LR radios and accessories are preconfigured and ready for installation. All
items are labeled with indications where it must be installed
Active Repeater
LR installation

Active Repeater LR unit will provide set

Tx output power if:
 Paired with partner Active Repeater LR
unit via IF ports
 PartnerActive Repeater unit receives
usable RF signal (-25...-65 dBm)

Initial alignment to be done according to

RSSI indication of Active Repeater LR unit
Antenna
adjustment

 Ensure both antennas are aligned to

the main lobe
 Avoid alignment on a side lobe or a
strong reflected signal
 Loosen the mounting hardware and
slowly sweep the antenna verical and
then horizontal axis in the same time
observe RSSI
 In case of a proper alignment Rx level
should correspond the the
theoretically calculated value +/-
3...4dBm
