WHAT IS CHRISTIANSM?
 Christianism is a word which means religious systems, tenets, or practices of Christians, in various
forms of religious practices of denominations and cults, such
as Catholicism, Protestantism, Mormonism, etc. The word is analogous
with Islamism, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. Christianist and neo-Christianist are related terms.
Christianism is also a political ideology derived from the conservative religious views of Christian
fundamentalism. It holds Christianity is not only a religion, but also a political system that governs the
legal, economic and social imperatives of the state.

WHAT IS HINDUISM?

 Hinduism is one of the oldest known organized religions—its sacred writings date as far back as 1400
to 1500 B.C. It is also one of the most diverse and complex, having millions of gods Hinduism is often
understood as being polytheistic, supposedly recognizing as many as 330 million gods, it also has one
“god” that is supreme—Brahma.
 Hinduism can also be atheistic, deistic, or even nihilistic. With such diversity included under the title
“Hindu,” one may wonder what makes them “Hindu” in the first place? About the only real issue is
whether or not a belief system recognizes the Vedas as sacred.

WHAT IS BHUDDISM?
 The founder of Buddhism was Buddha Shakyamuni who lived and taught in India some two and a half
thousand years ago. Since then millions of people around the world have followed the pure spiritual
path he revealed. The Buddhist way of life of peace, loving kindness and wisdom is just as relevant
today as it was in ancient India. Buddha explained that all our problems and suffering arise from
confused and negative states of mind, and that all our happiness and good fortune arise from peaceful
and positive states of mind. He taught methods for gradually overcoming our negative minds such as
anger, jealousy and ignorance, and developing our positive minds such as love, compassion and
wisdom. Through this we will come to experience lasting peace and happiness.

WHAT IS CONFUCIANISM?
 Confucianism, a religion of optimistic humanism, has had a monumental impact upon the life, social
structure, and political philosophy of China. The founding of the religion goes back to one man, known
as Confucius, born 500 years before Christ. Confucianism deals primarily with moral conduct and
ethical living and is often categorized as an ethical system, rather than a religion. It emphasizes the
earthly, not the heavenly. The doctrines of Confucianism center upon the Ancestor Worship, which
means veneration of the deceased ancestors whose spirits are believed to control the fortunes of the
descendants and Filial piety which means devotion and obedience to and reverence of the elders of
the family by the younger members. Confucianism, like all false religions, relies on the works and
abilities of man. Christianity alone recognizes that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
(Romans 3:23), and its followers rely solely on Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice on the cross opened
heaven’s door to all who believe in Him and put their trust not in themselves, but in Him alone.

WHAT IS DAOSIM?
 Daoism, also spelled Taoism, indigenous religio-philosophical tradition that has shaped Chinese life for
more than 2,000 years. In the broadest sense, a Daoist attitude toward life can be seen in the
accepting and yielding, the joyful and carefree sides of the Chinese character, an attitude that offsets
and complements the moral and duty-conscious, austere and purposeful character ascribed
to Confucianism.
 Daoism is also characterized by a positive, active attitude toward the occult and the metaphysical
(theories on the nature of reality), whereas the agnostic, pragmatic Confucian tradition considers these
issues of only marginal importance, although the reality of such issues is, by most Confucians, not
denied.
