FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Sock length: 8¾”/9⅞” (22/25 cm), to fit foot length 9½”/10½” (24/26.5 cm).

Sock circumference: 7⅞” (20 cm), to fit foot circumference 8¾”/9½” (22/24 cm).

Leg length: 8¼” (21 cm).

TOOLS AND MATERIALS

 Lang Yarns Jawoll (75% wool, 25% polyamide (nylon); 437 yds (400 m)

per 100 g) #85.0050: 1 skein

 Circular needles US 1½ (2.5 mm) or size to get the gauge; at least 32” (80

cm) length

 Crochet hook of any size (for alternative cast-on)

 Spare yarn

 Blunt sewing needle (for grafting)

 Stitch markers (for alternative cast-on)

GAUGE
Entrelac block 11 sts x 21 rows in stockinette = 1⅛” x 1½” (3 x 4 cm).

“Furuba” by Natalia Vasilieva 2

PATTERN NOTES
Both socks of each size are knitted identically, with entrelac blocks facing RS or

WS respectively. Each sock starts from provisional cast-on, is formed in entrelac

with internal shaping for the heel and the toe and then is grafted between tiers

zigzagging around the leg.

To change the size of socks, you may work bigger or smaller entrelac blocks:

adding or subtracting 1 st x 2 rows will widen or narrow sock circumference by

¾” (2 cm), and lengthen or shorten sock foot by ¾”/1” (2/2.5 cm).

Stockinette blocks might be worked in traditional knit-and-purl rows with

turns, or in knit-and-knit-back-backwards rows without turns. Garter stitch

blocks for the cuff are worked in all knits with turns after each row.

Right Sock
You may work alternative cast-on as follows:
Right sock starts from tip of the toe with RS-facing blocks.
Using Crocheted Provisional method, cast on 200
stitches with spare yarn onto needle placing markers
Tier I, Blocks 1-4: Set-up row 1 (RS): Using Invisible method and spare yarn,
after each 20 stitches. Do not knit full row with
cast on 11 sts. Row 2 (WS): Knit back backwards 11 (or turn the work, purl 11, main yarn! End of chain should be at the toe.
For Set-up row 1 of Tiers I and III blocks knit 11,
turn). Row 3 and all following RS rows: Slip 1, knit 10. Row 4 and all drop remaining 9 spare sts until next marker and
remove it.
following WS rows: Slip 1, knit back backwards 10 (or turn, slip 1, purl 10,

turn). Repeat last 2 rows for 21 rows in total ending with RS row. Use the

same spare yarn for blocks worked like this one leaving a long float to prevent puckering.
