RasulAllahSAW said: “Everything has a heart, and the heart of the Quran is Surah
Yaa~Seen. Anyone who recites this Surah gets the blessings equivalent to reading ten
Quran.” [Tirmidhi]
The ProphetSAW said, “I wish that it (Yaa~Seen) is fully retained in the heart of every member of my
Ummah (community).”
There are many blessings for reciting this Surah by anyone who does it for the pleasure of AllahSWT.
AllahSWT grants him blessings equivalent to reciting the Quran ten times. For those who recite it
regularly, AllahSWT removes calamities, hardships, and evil from one’s heart, increases one’s
sustenance, and grants his Du’a.
One who recites it in the morning, AllahSWT grants his Du’a for the day. And one who recites it at
night, all his sins are forgiven.
Reciting it on a person under evil spell makes the spell go away with the blessings of AllahSWT.
Many Aulia of AllahSWT have said that if this Surah is recited at times of hardship or dire needs,
AllahSWT makes things easy. To those who recite it: AllahSWT feeds the hungry, clothes those
without clothes, give protection to those who are scared, removes hardships of the needy, frees
those who are imprisoned, frees those under loans from the obligations, and fulfill the needs of the
needy.
Reciting it next to a sick person helps in AllahSWT providing Shifa (healing). And, reciting at the
time of death brings AllahSWT mercy and blessing at the place and makes it easy for the dying
person.
May Allah, the most Exalted and Glorious, fill our hearts with the love of the Glorious Qur’an;
may the Infinitely Merciful One make the Qur’an the spring of our hearts, a soothing balm and
healer of all our spiritual ailments and worries, our guide and light in our earthly life,
and a companion and source of comfort for us in our graves, and finally our escort to the jannah,
the eternal realm of bliss that Allah has promised His righteous servants-Aameen!
AllahSWT’s guidance in Surah Yaa Seen
The main object of this Surah is to warn the non-believers about the consequences of not believing
in the Prophethood of MuhammadSAW and of resisting and opposing it with tyranny, ridicule and
mockery. Arguments are also given about Tawhïd (the Oneness of God), Risãlat (Prophethood) and
the Hereafter from the signs of the universe and the use of common sense.
1. The Quran is revealed by AllahSWT – the most Powerful and the most Merciful, to warn the
people who have not been warned by their ancestors.
2. Prophet MuhammadSWT is the Messenger of AllahSWT and his traditions are the Siratal
Mustaqeem (the straight path to Jannah.)
3. Our obligation is only to deliver the message of AllahSWT – we are not the judge or the
enforcers. Only those whom AllahSWT wills will be guided. To some sinners and arrogant
people the doors of AllahSWT mercy is already closed. And AllahSWT is keeping an account
of everything that we do in this world.
4. In delivering the message of AllahSWT, we must do it very sincerely and unselfishly. Our
only goal should be to invite them to AllahSWT and in the process helping our family,
friends, and the mankind away from the punishment in the Hellfire.
5. We should reflect in the universal faculties that AllahSWT has created for us to have a
comfortable life in this world – the fertile land, the food, the Sun and Moon, the
transportation etc. And we must be ever thankful.
6. AllahSWT has sent messengers to guide us to the right path. Prophet MuhammadSAW was the
last Messenger. He delivered the word of Allah to guide the believers and warn the non-
believers.
7. The Day of Judgment will come one day. It will happen all of a sudden while people would
be carrying out there normal routines of life. Everyone, including those who died in the past,
will wake up from their sleep in the graves and will rush to Allah SWT for Judgment. On that
Day, everyone will be treated fairly according to their deeds in this world.
8. Those who obey Him will be rewarded with the total bliss in the Jannah. Those who disobey
and transgress will be punished in the Hellfire.
9. We must recognize that the Shaitan is our open enemy and his aim is to lead us to the
Hellfire.
10. Total immersion in the worship of AllahSWT is the Siratal Mustaqeem (the straight path to
Jannah.)
SURAH Ya Seen
SECTION 1
1. Yaa seeen
Ya-Seen.1
1. Ya-Sin is usually treated as a title of the holy Prophet SAW. HeSAW said; “Verily, AllahSWT has addressed me in Quran by seven
names: Muhammad, Ahmed, Tahaa, Ya Seen, Al-Muzzammil, Al-Mudassir, and Abdullah SAW.”
2. The Book is Hakim – full of wisdom, because it is from the One who is All Wise.
3. It is made very clear and as a warning that the ProphetSAW is a messenger of AllahSWT and thus heSAW speaks the words of
AllahSWT. So there should be no doubt about his message as being the divine message.
4. We ask AllahSWT in Surah Fatihah to guide us on the right path – here AllahSWT tells us that the path of the Prophet SAW is the
straight path which leads to Jannah (Paradise.) This ayah also tells us that Quran and Sunnah are both divine guidance and erases
the doubts of the people who do not pay attention to the Sunnah.
5. The Revelation is characterized by two attributes of Allah. It has force and power: for Allah is Exalted in Might and able to
enforce His Will. And it brings a Message of hope and mercy; for Allah is Most Merciful. Thus it is warning to people who do not
obey His commands – that the Quran is full of Allah’s mercy for us to earn a place in Jannah – but for those who are rebellious
must know that Allah is All Powerful and He can enforce His will whenever He wishes.
6. The warning is in general global for those people who have not been warned in the near past (since in far past all people had
received messengers from AllahSWT.) The Quran is also a warning for us – who have not taken the message of Quran seriously as
a warning, i.e. those in contemporary times who have not internalized the message of Quran with an absolute certainty that the
Hereafter and Day of Judgment are very real events that will happen on their times and those who do not follow the
commandments in the Quran will be punished and they would not be able to use an excuse that they were not warned.
7. Laqad haq qal qaulu ‘alaa ak~sarihim fahum la
yu’~minoon.
Indeed the Word (of punishment) has proved true
against most of them, so they will not believe. 7
41. The past history of his race takes us to the story of the Flood, which is symbolical of Allah's justice and mercy. Noah's Ark was
a "Sign to all People": the story of the Ark remains an everlasting Sign and Warning to mankind-a Sign of deliverance to the
righteous and of destruction to the wicked. Man's own personal experience is appealed to in every ship afloat:
42. The stately ships sailing through the seas, heavier than air, yet carrying man and his goods safely and smoothly across the
waters, they are another Sign for man. Ships are not mentioned, but (vessels) like the Ark: they would cover all kinds of sea-craft,
but also the modern aircraft, which "swims" through air instead of through water.
44. Allah has given man all these wonderful things in nature and utilities produced by the skill and intelligence which Allah has
given to man. It is only Allah's Mercy that saves man from destruction for man's own follies, and that saving or the enjoyment of
these utilities and conveniences he should not consider as eternal: they are only given for a time, in this life of probation.
48. Wa yaqu~loona mataa haazal w’adu in kun~tum
saadi~qeen
And they say: "When will this promise (i.e.
Resurrection) be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 48
48. In addition to the arrogance and blasphemy, they not only refuse Faith, but they taunt the men of Faith: "If there is a Hereafter,
tell us when it will be!" The answer is: "It will come sooner than you expect: you will yet be disputing about things of Faith and
neglecting your opportunities in Life, when the Hour will sound, and you will have no time even to make your dispositions in this
life: you will be cut off from everyone whom you thought to be near and dear to you, or able to help you!
52. The dead will rise as in a daze, and they will be confused in the new conditions! They will gradually regain their memory and
their personality. They will be reminded that Allah in His grace and mercy had already announced the Hereafter in their
probationary lives, and the word of Allah's messengers, which then seemed so strange and remote, was true and was now being
fulfilled!
55. In~na as~haabal jan~natil yau~ma fi shugulin
faa~kihoon
Verily, the dwellers of the Paradise, that Day, will
be busy in joyful things
55. Note the gradation in the description. First, there is the nature of the joy therein. It will be a Garden i.e., everything beautiful to
see, hear, feel, taste, and smell; delightfully green lawns, trees; the streams and the songs of birds; the flowers, the flavors of fruits;
and the perfumes of flowers and scents. An active joy, without fatigue: a source of total joy without alloy.
56. Secondly, the joy or happiness is figured to be, not solitary, but shared by partners.
57. Thirdly, a total Bliss -- the Bliss in the Hereafter has an inner quality.
58. Fourthly, the highest grade of bliss, the salutation "Salaam (Peace!)" from Allah Most Merciful -- the final Goal.
59. Now contemplate the state of the Sinners in a graduated descent. In the first place, their state of isolation. From this Day of
Judgment, they will no longer have the chance of being with the Blessed. The first feature of the Day of Judgment is that it is a Day
of Separation.
60. Secondly, there is a gentle reproach to the wrong-doers. They are addressed as "children of Adam", to emphasize two facts, (1)
that they have disgraced their ancestry, and (2) that Allah Most Merciful has throughout the ages continued to warn mankind again
63. Haazihil jahan~namul latee kun~tum tuadoon
This is Hell which you were promised! 63
64. Is~lauhal yau~ma bima kun~tum tak~furoon
Embrace (the Fire) this Day, for that you used to
disbelieve!
65. Al~yauma nakh~timu alaa af~waahihim wa
tukal~limuna aidihim wa tash~hadu ar~juluhum bima
kaanu yak~siboon
This Day, We shall seal up their mouths, and their
hands will speak to Us, and their feet will bear
witness to what they used to earn. 65
66. Wa lau nashaa’u lathamas~na ‘alaa a’yunihim
fas~tabaqus~sirata fa an~naa yub~siroon
And if it had been Our Will, We would surely have
wiped out (blinded) their eyes, so that they would
struggle for the Path, how then would they see?
63. The naked fact is now placed before them -the Hell,-the state of damnation, which they could so easily have avoided!
65. Hands and feet" in this connection are symbolical of all the instruments for action which they were given in this life.
68. Everything is possible with Allah. Contemplate the transformations he already undergoes in his present nature at different ages.
As a child powers of mind and body are still undeveloped. As he grows, they grow, and certain moral qualities, such as courage,
71. Awalam yarau an~ na khalaq~na lahum mim~ma
amilat aideena an~aaman fahum laha maalikoom
Do they not see that We have created for them of
what Our Hands have created, the cattle, so that
they are their owners. 71
