Exercise #2 – Examining Potential Changes Needed in a Firm’s Vision/Mission


From the two companies you studied in the previous exercise (Metro Retail
Stores Group, Inc. and Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc.), in this exercise, you will further
evaluate both their Vision and Mission. This exercise gives you practice examining the
change or needed change in a company’s vision and mission statements, given a change
in the company’s strategies and product offerings. So, you might need to visit their
website and study their products offered.

Instructions
1. Go to Metro Retail Stores Group, Inc. and Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. website
and have access to their 2018 Annual Report. You might need their Annual
Reports from previous years to understand their company.
2. Evaluate their Vision and Mission. Use the concepts we discussed in evaluating
the vision and mission of the two companies.
3. Also, have an assessment to see if their current strategies implemented are in line
with their vision and mission. You need to do some additional reading for this
part.
4. Then write an improved vision and mission statements for the two companies

Submission of report.
 Submit this exercise in groups. Each group must have at most 6 members in it.
The members must be in the same class schedule. Choose your members wisely
and make sure they are contributing enough in this exercise.
 In your report, use A4 paper with 1-inch margin on all sides. Follow the
formatting shown below.
 Times New Roman
 Font Size – 12
 Single Spacing
 The front page will be the cover page showing the subject, section, and group
members.
 For the content proper, follow the format below.
