Abion BPA 1-B UNDERSTANDING THE SELF

“How does the society influence my view and perception about

myself?”

With the widespread of news and technology in our society today, I believe the
people made an impression that they have to reach a certain standard to please
other people. The media and technology set standards on how people should look,
act, or live their lives; like it takes away my originality. It affects my insights or view
and perception on how the issues should intake to or how to respond to it.

The opinions of others matters, because you are being open and accepting
other knowledge. By hearing and listening to other people, it builds and
enhances the things on me and changes my perspectives in life. Thus, not
being entitled to own opinion only.
We live in a judgmental society. In our society with different nationalities and
ethnicities, we depend on the ability to interact with people primarily through sight.
And by having this, I try to have an equilibrium to think what’s wrong and right and
We should learn to accept others and try to adapt to them rather than changing
them.

Norms are the patterns or the usual in social behaviour. Living in a community, I
can say that they heavily influence myself in different areas of life. And with each
norm, you adopt, your behaviour changes to fit the expectations both you and
others have of that role.
