plan well ahead for International projects which I know our In-
ternational Team are already doing.
I have just returned from the Beaumaris Concourse Car and
Bike Show which we were lucky to fit it in before the bad
weather arrived after lunch (see photos page 2). We had a
great turn out of members to assist Roy Downes and local
business owner Trevor Allwright. The array of cars and bikes
was impressive. Rusty from Bumper 2 Bumper attended to
film the event which will end up as a full episode on C31. Unless stated otherwise venue is
Rusty was roaming the show and interviewing entrants and Victoria Golf Club 6.30 for 7.00
viewing their vehicles. The show was very well attended by
the community. We were once again very visible. Well done Contents

involved.
RI President Mark Maloney will be making a 50-year Ser-
vice Recognition at the dinner in Ballarat on Wednesday
24th September to our very own Clem Quick.
I have received some desperate pleas for us to remove
the difficult money handling and counting situation at the
cash desk produced by the new VGC charge of $32.50.
The Board meets this Tuesday and we will revisit possible
solutions, but we must not let this become a Brexit type
issue within the club!
I have received a reminder that submissions to have your
say in the Bayside City Council electoral representation
review will be closing at 5.00 pm on Wednesday 11 Sep-
tember. Public input is a vital part of the review process,
providing valuable local perspectives and knowledge. The
Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) has prepared a
submission guide to help in preparing submissions. To
find out more about the review process and how you can
have a say, visit the VEC website or call 131 832.
This week at VGC Andrew Coogan, Raise Mentoring.

The Antarctic Treaty and related agreements, collectively

known as the Antarctic Treaty System (ATS), regu-
late international relations with respect to Antarctica,
Earth's only continent without a native human popula-
tion. For the purposes of the treaty system, Antarctica is
defined as all of the land and ice shelves south of 60°S
latitude. The treaty entered into force in 1961 and cur-
rently has 54 parties. The treaty sets aside Antarctica as
a scientific preserve, establishes freedom of scientific
investigation, and bans military activity on the continent.
The treaty was the first arms control agreement estab-
lished during the Cold War.
