At Illinois Training & Development Corporation we specialize in the improvement of the performance in
individuals and businesses. Our philosophy is easy: identify, train, and evaluate. We offer individual and
group consultations that are tailored to a variety of markets such as IT, manufacturing, social services, and
hospitality.
Training is educating individuals so that they develop new skills, concepts, and attitudes in order to
increase performance1.
Development achieves and sustains a new level that benefits the individual and business.
In short, training and development focuses on the improvement of performance in organizations
and individuals via innovation.
Training and development encompass many fields such as e-learning, group training, customized
training programs, and research and development.
What will I be doing, where can I work, and what are the requirements?
You will be developing new projects to meet the future needs of your company or client and
training individuals on the necessary skills to meet those needs.
You can essentially work wherever you want. A career in training and development allows you to
work in diverse fields such as retail, manufacturing, IT, education, social services, and hospitality. It
also gives you the opportunity to work independently as a contractor.
You will need a Bachelors or Graduate degree in fields such as Training and Development,
Industrial-Organizational Psychology, HR, or Business. While there are training and certificate
programs, they should always be supplemental to a degree not a replacement.
