IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous At the beginning of the lesson, the learners will play a quiz! FormativeAssesment
lesson or presenting the The learners will prove mastery of their previous concepts learned by  Listing of students’ answers
new lesson answering questions in multiple choice. Learners will be grouped by 6 ,the
Elicit group leader will raise the card with correct answer.
B. Establishing a purpose for Video presentation of the convention current
the lesson What causes convection current in the mantle?
Engage
C. Presenting Teacher will demonstrate convection using two bottles of blue colored cold KWL:
examples/instances of water and two bottles of yellow colored hot water. What they know What they want What they have
the new lesson Key questions: What do you think caused one bottle to mix and the other to know learned
Engage bottle to not mix? How is this similar to what happens inside the Earth?

To answer these questions we are going to perform series of activities.

D. Discussing the new concepts Learning by Station: Formative Assessment

and practicing new skills #1 There will be four learning stations: Watch It!, Research It! Read It! and  Question and answer method
Engage Organize It!
Learners will be grouped into four and will perform each of the station for
3minutes.After performing the four stations, the group will go back to their
table and copy in the manila paper their answers to guide questions.

 Group Discussion/
Brainstorming

F. Developing mastery (Leads to
Formative Assessment 3) Learners by group will present their answers to the guide questions.
(Explain)

Concept Mapping based on students’ answers.

G. Finding practical applications Video presentation of applications of convection currents.
of concepts and skills in daily
living
(Elaborate)
H. Making generalizations and The learners will summarize what they learned by filling in the concept map. Concept Mapping
abstractions about the lesson
(Elaborate)

I. Evaluating learning Teacher-made test. Rubrics for scoring

(Evaluate)
J. Additional activities for Learners will complete a worksheet of applications of convection to daily
application or remediation life. This complies indicator #2(Uses a range of teaching strategies that
(Extend) enhance learner achievement in literacy and numeracy skills.
