Hostile AI: Combat Commander Solo system 1.

By Josh Malbon

This solo system is designed to use the 72-card Hostile Tactical AI deck available from
Wargamevault.com and Thegamecrafter.com to control the enemy moves.

Synopsis:

Basically, you draw 1 AI card and look at Blue Top area to see which order the enemy does (Rally, Double
Time, Charge, etc...) If the AI needs a target, you draw another AI card and look at the black rectangle on
the bottom for the Target (Closest, Weakest, etc...) If the AI is doing a movement, draw AI card and
check center Attack area to find out the focus of the AI’s type of movement.

Instructions:
Player is You!

AI is the Enemy.

AI cards or AI Deck always means the Hostile cards. Any mention of other decks or cards are the Combat
Commander order cards.

PLAYER TURN:

Once the Player commits to his first order, draw the Enemy’s hand to full. Leave the enemy’s cards as
open near the board. Anytime the AI can use an Action from its hand to hinder the Player, it does.

1
If Player does a Move order, Draw 1 AI card. If the AI card is a Suppress order (the blue part at top of the
card), the AI plays a Fire order. Discard 1 card from Enemy’s hand. (The hand is always the Combat
Commander order cards.)

Whenever Discarding from Enemy hand, choose a matching order. If no card matches, discard the
least useful card from the Enemy hand in its place. If the Enemy has no cards to discard, it cannot do
that Order or Action.

AI TURN:
AI draws up to Hand limit. AI will then attempt to play its max amount of orders by using AI cards to tell
it what to do. If order type is not possible, do the next order in line. If Secondary is reached and still no
available orders, the AI discards its limit.

For each Enemy order, Draw 1 AI card, check the blue top for the type of order, and complete that
order. If the AI has any more available orders, Draw another AI card and check the blue top for the next
order.

These are the order types:

If AI Order is Advance or Move: Draw next AI card and follow its ATTACK instructions to find the focus of
the move. If the order is to FLANK or PUSH, the Player may not play a Fire Order!

Ignore the D6 part of the Attack orders. The AI moves up to its maximum, while following the focus of
the order.

Attack Orders FOCUS:

This is the focus for the AI’s movement found on the center of the AI cards.

 DEFENSIVE = AI focus is to stay in cover.

 FLANK = AI focus is to move around the Player.
 HOSTILE = AI focus is to do most harm to player. AI enters Melee, if Advance order.
 PUSH = AI focus is towards most valuable objective.
 RETREAT = AI focus is to protect its formations.

Note: If Order is Double Time, after completing the Move, that formation attempts to Fire on the
Player. The AI is vicious and cheating.

AI Order is Rally: If AI has any broken or suppressed units, AI attempts Recover. Discard 1 card, then
if the Player has any Broken units and AI still has available Orders, AI plays Rout against Player.
Discard 1 card.

2
AI Order is Suppress: AI will attempt Fire order.

For AI Fire order: Draw 1 AI card to see which AI Unit that has LOS and Range activates (Strongest,
Weakest, etc...). Draw next AI card to see which Player Unit AI attacks (Strongest, Weakest, etc...),
then Discard 1 card.

SECONDARY:

Hell Awaits!

If AI has actual Artillery Request card, it will play it. Draw AI card to find target.

If AI has actual Artillery Denied card, it will play it.

AI will play as many of these cards that it has available. This all counts as 1 Order.

SNIPER TRIGGER: Whenever a Sniper trigger occurs for Player or AI, it will break a Player formation
adjacent to the Random hex. It will not break AI formations.
