ELECTIONS 2019

All candidates may only run for ONE position. Each position is to be filled by one candidate, but if results are tied for any of the
respective positions, cadidates will co-hold the position. Please submit your campaign statement of no more than 1000 characters
(including spaces) to avssu.cro@gmail.com by September 17 at 11:59 PM with subject line “Running for __ Position”.
Campaign period is from September 18-24. Elections will be online at voting.utoronto.ca from September 25-27.

EXECUTIVE POSITIONS
VICE PRESIDENT OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
Brief Description: Shall be represent our Faculty on the UTSU Board of Directors as the Architecture and Visual Studies
Representative, and be the main contact between AVSSU and any external organizations.

VICE PRESIDENT OF STUDENT LIFE

Brief Description: Shall be responsible for establishing a program of social events for all Daniels Faculty students financed by
the AVSSU. Planning of social events include our annual Reading Week Trip, Formal, Pub Nights, etc.

VICE PRESIDENT OF COMMUNICATIONS

Brief Description: Shall be responsible but not limited to creating the agenda for AVSSU meetings, take accurate and detailed
minutes from meetings, maintaining and updating the AVSSU website and other social media platforms in a timely manner, and
promote important information and events.

EQUITY COMMISSIONER
Brief Description: Shall represent Daniels Faculty students’ concerns and social justice issues regarding, but not limited to age,
ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, ability, citizenship, nationality, ancestry, and personal, political
or religious beliefs. Shall provide the Daniels Faculty community with educational programs, services and events.

REPRESENTATIVE POSITIONS
A representative must represent the interests of their constituents at all AVSSU meetings. They will also need to discuss all
student concerns with the Vice President of Academics on a regular basis.

ARCHITECTURE: DESIGN
Candidate must be enrolled in the Architectural Studies Specialist: Design Stream

ARCHITECTURE: HISTORY + THEORY

Candidate must be enrolled in the Architectural Studies Specialist: History and Theory Stream

ARCHITECTURE: TECHNOLOGY
Candidate must be enrolled in the Architectural Studies Specialist: Technology Stream

VISUAL STUDIES: GENERAL

Candidate must be enrolled in the Visual Studies major

VISUAL STUDIES: STUDIO

Candidate must be enrolled in the Visual Studies Specialist: Studio Stream

VISUAL STUDIES: CRITICAL PRACTICES

Candidate must be enrolled in the Visual Studies Specialist: Critical Practices Stream

FIRST YEAR
Candidate must be enrolled in an Architectural Studies or Visual Studies Major or Specialist and in their first year of study
