(-2) x 4 = ( -2) + (-2) + (-2 ) +(-2) = -8
Ruler 1:
If two numbers with the same signs are multiplied, the product is a positive number.
Example:
(+)(+)=(+) (-)(-)=(+)
Rule 2:
If two numbers that are multiplied have opposite signs, the product is a negative number.
Example:
Rule 3:
In multiplying 3 or more negative numbers, count the number of factors, if the number of factors is
even number, the sign of the product is positive but if the number of factor is odd number, the sign of
the product is negative.
