 Market performance
and demands
• The decrease in export sales last 2012 to present was due
less production of pneumatic tires.
• An upward trend in exports was seen in Natural rubber in
all forms and Rubber finish products for the automotive
sector.
• In 2013 and 2014 Rubber Imports are higher than Exports ,
an indication of increase in local demands.
• Philippines is one of the fastest growing car markets in Asia
, sales increased 28% from Jan to Oct 2014 as compared to
last year. ( Source : The Report Philippines 2015 , Oxford Business Group )
 Market performance
and demands
• World Rubber Consumption last 2013 ( 26.81 Million Tons )
increased in 2014 by 1.8 % ( 28.6 Million Tons ) mainly due to
China’s driving force with a contribution of 1.5% (Source
: IRSG World Rubber Industry Outlook 2015)

• DTI was given Php 2.3 Billion by DBM for the Manufacture
Resurgence Program.

• Expansion of the Automotive Industry locally et. al Mitsubushi

Motors acquisition of Ford and its plant expansion in Sta. Rosa
Laguna requires a steady supply chain of OEM parts in its assembly.

• With this upward trend one of DTI’s program CARS

(Comprehensive Automotive Resurgence Strategy) aims to develop,
encourage and address problems of manufacturers of automotive
parts for these assembly plants in PEZA areas.
 New Market
opportunities
• Adoption of a development of
Modified Asphalt for Road
improvements in Malaysia. Additives
like polymers, crumb rubber from used
tires and latex are mixed with asphalt
and bitumen to improve its resistance
to oxidative aging .
