INTRODUCTION

Politicians played a big role in our society because they are the one who is professionally
involve in politics, especially as a holder of or a candidate for an elected office. All throughout the
years, Politicians were directly involved in our government. Government is a group of people with
the authority to govern a country or state. Politicians can be elected into their positions with the
power of the people. People undergo elections which they are going to vote and select the next
leader who will be going to serve them.
An increasing number of voters change their party preferences dynamically, a
phenomenon that is often called as electoral volatility which have been observed across the
countries (e.g., David Johann et al., 2018; Jennings and Wlezien, 2016; Dassonneville,2012;
Hobolt, Spoon & Tiley, 2009; Zaller, 2004; Kramer, 1970; Lazarsfeld, Berelson & Gaudet, 1948;
Pederson, 1979). Changes in party preferences observed in a short-term process for example
electoral campaigns wherein voters may report that they intend to vote other political party before
the election but actually voted for the other party during the Election Day (e.g., David Johann et
al., 2018; Jennings and Wlezien, 2016).

Statement of the Problem


This case study about “Political Campaigns Changes Voters’ Perspective” was conducted
to examines the power of political campaigns to influence the voter’s decision that includes issues
and problems:
1. The effect of Politicians act of defamation to another parties with regards to the voter’s
decision.
2. The effect of Political Campaigns with the aids of telecommunications to voter’s decision.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Definition of Terms

Scope and Limitations of the Study


This study comprises the “Political Campaigns Changes Voters’ Perspective” in which
the researcher conducted an exclusive interview and survey in Poblacion District III MacArthur,
Leyte.
Nature of the Study
This study requires Descriptive Interview and Survey Research Design to have a more
reliable data gather. In this design, the researcher has only limited number of respondents to
answer their question or research survey questions that they prepared. This study also used
unbiased random sampling to recognize the participants of the said interview to gather more
information about the case study entitled “Political Campaigns Changes Voters’ Perspective”.
Unbiased random sampling usually done when the names of the future participants (e.g.,
politicians and voters) will be written in a piece of paper and putted in a box. The researcher will
pick, choose and drawn a paper inside the said box to acknowledge their contestant. In addition,
the name written in a piece of paper will be written in a piece of bonder and put again inside the
box to have a fair possibility that they will be chosen in the said activity. The researcher will go to
the respected house of the recognize participants to gather more data, insights and information.
Approaches of the Study
The researcher conduct a thorough gathering of data through reading articles, journal,
researches and literature that is related with the topic entitled “Political Campaigns Changes
Voters’ Perspective”. In addition, the researcher conducted an interview to view more insights to
fully understand the data gathered. In connection, the researcher asks a permission before
conducting an interview to their dearest participants (e.g., politicians and voters) and giving them
a pre-knowledge or an orientation about the topic to formally start the interview.
To give more accurate and concrete data, the researcher finds an analyst to criticize and
analyze the information gathered. Analyst helps the researcher to give the most reliable
information they could give to their readers.
