Summary Scope of Work


 The role of the Source Surveillance (WPS) Technical Representation Specialist is to
verify, witness and or perform specific activities, at Suppliers' facilities, performed at
intervals consistent with the importance of the item and service being furnished. These
source surveillances shall be conducted in accordance with plans to perform inspections,
examinations, or tests at predetermined points. In addition, will provide documented
evidence of acceptance to the customer.
 The primary function of the Source Inspector is to ascertain through proper examination
and various tests that material and/or equipment conforms to requirements of:
1. The Purchase Order
2. Applicable Specifications and/or Drawings
3. Manufacturer's Approved Drawings
4. ASTM (or other) Specifications designated in applicable Specifications and/or
5. Drawings
6. Applicable Codes/Standards
7. Approved Welding Procedure
8. Approved Nondestructive Examination (NDE) Procedures
9. Approved of painting system from vendor blasting and painting
10. Approved Supplier Procedures
 Inspections may be performed at either the prime Supplier's or sub supplier’s as
appropriate. Unless otherwise specified, all requirements imposed upon the Supplier also
apply equally to his sub supplier and likewise their sub suppliers.
 The type of inspections performed will vary with the specific requirements of the purchase
order and specification. The Source Inspector may witness, verify, or perform inspections
depending on these requirements.
 It is important that the Source Inspector understand certification requirements in
reference to NDE. Verification of NDE documentation does not mandate certification,
while performance of NDE generally does. As an example, when a Source Inspector
reviews radiographs it is a verification of compliance function by visual observation and
not an interpretation for acceptance such as might be required by code or specification.
The interpretation for acceptance is the responsibility of the Supplier.
Each of these terms, along with typical items, is defined as follows:
 Witness - The act of observing and giving an account of inspections and/or tests
performed by others. Typical Items Witnessed - Functional testing, hydrostatic testing,
nondestructive testing, and other special tests.
 Verify - The act of proving that a function or requirement has been met by examining
objective evidence. This evidence can be in the form of documentation or confirmed by
witnessing or performing a function.
Typical Items Verified - QA/QC program implementation, welding procedures/qualification
records, inspection/test procedures, installation procedures, and material certifications.
 Perform - Personal performance of a task or function.

Summary Scope of Work


 Reviewing and approved the (WPS) Project Specification, Design Calculations, Welding
sequence welding procedure for control distortion, Inspection & Testing requirements
based on the applicable construction codes like AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code -
Steel.
 Perform inspection verification, monitoring, surveillance and coordinates welding and
NDT work activities according to approved quality plan / inspection and test plan.
 To act on behalf of client or for the assigned job or project (activities involved -
witnessing and verification works as Welding Procedure Qualification Test, Welding
Procedure Specification, Mechanical Testing, Welding Inspection (Before, During and
After), dimensional and fit-up verification, NDT methods (UT, RI, MPI & DPI) and
document review.
 Under the authority of the project SCM manager (and, as applicable, the authority of the
project lead expeditor) and in close co-operation with the project SCM engineer(s) & the
project QC engineer, the expeditor shall ensure the complete & timely delivery of the
material & equipment in line with the project requirements, give alarm to all delay &
propose recovery plans, ensure the application of the SCM processes, ensure that the
expediting and inspection records are kept up to date and check the expediting costs
versus the budget.
 Attend the kick off meetings (KOM) and the pre-production meetings (PPM). Ensure, with
the QC engineer, that all the documentation required to hold the KOM & the PPM is
available with the right level of approval and issue the agenda. Make sure the ITP is
produced.
 Receive & forward the supplier’s calls for inspections to the project QC engineer and, as
applicable, to the client (as per the requirement of the ITP), monitor the progress of the
inspections, ensure that the inspection report are received, reviewed, agreed & logged.
Forward the finding(s), if any, to the supplier. Keep up to date a two weeks look ahead
inspection plan.
 Ensure a close relation with the QC engineer and keep aware of all QC issues and
anticipate their consequences on schedule.
 Attend (or delegate to third party) expediting visits and meetings as necessary and
ensure MOM are issued.
 Expedite the issuance and the submission of the supplier’s data book, ensure it is in
accordance with the project requirements and liaise with all parties to review the technical
part and with the supplier to amend the data book until it is acceptable and ready for
submission. Hand over to the project document controller for dispatch.
 Ensure all conditions are enforced to issue a release note and trigger the material receipt
function in Maximum when the release note is issued.
 Provide the SCM engineer with all necessary information for the approval of the
supplier’s invoices (with focus on delivery of documentation).
 Participate in the evaluation of the vendors.
 Provide lessons learnt to the expediting function.

according calibration international standard.
 Make sure and establish safety risk assessment and job safety analysis on the quality
control laboratory for each test/machine/chemical.
 To perform at witnessing and verification of hydro testing, leak testing, air / foam testing,
compression testing, nitrogen gas test, Welding Procedure Qualification Test, Welding

Summary Scope of Work


 Obligation and responsibilities to work as a General Inspector during the fabrication
On yard & factory manufacturing onshore Structural, Piping/Exotic Materials, mechanical
equipment, blasting & painting / coating and fabrication of extension subsea pipelines in
accordance with project specification requirement, approved procedures and related
company work instructions.
 To monitor , surveillance and coordinates the site quality, control activities of company’s
