Reflection week 11

Presenting research is an important step that researchers should take with a lot of considerations.

This shows others how hardworking you are for you to finish the research work. For example, last

year at the university, I managed to attend a conference for researchers. Some of the researchers

had oral presentation while others had posters. At that time, I had an opportune moment to learn

from those researchers by listening to their presentation or walking around and reading their

posters. Some of these presentations and posters were interesting and easy to understand while

others were difficult to understand as the language used was more scientific.

This conference was very useful and beneficial to me as I acquired a lot of information on many

topics. Therefore, researchers should focus on this step to make it clear to understand and

summarize the main points of the research. The research can be presented by writing abstract of

150 – 800 words or more. In addition, researchers can introduce their work through oral

presentation of 10 -15 minutes or presenting it in posters. Researchers will also benefit from the

views and feedback they get from the audience about their research.

Having attended the conference and a lecture class on presenting research work taught me how

important it is to present the research properly. Presenting research is one of the crucial

opportunities for me in future to introduce my research work and get views from professionals in

my field of research.
