TRACKS
GENERAL GUIDELINES

Objectives

The tracks serve as a learning event that will guide the participants of the DYC2019 to:
1. Reflect together and understand a specific topic pertaining to an issue affecting the young;
2. Equip them to see the situation in the eyes of faith, learning from Christ’s example and teaching;
3. Empower them to love-love that makes sense.

Schedule

Date: 27 July 2019 (Saturday)

Time: 2:00-3:30 pm

Methodology

The workshop follows the pastoral spiral methodology of SEE-JUDGE-ACT:

SEE: To guide the participants towards deeper awareness and understanding of the topic

JUDGE: To evaluate this awareness side-by-side Gospel values and the teachings of the Church (with
reference to the Scriptures, the Church’s catechism, and other relevant Church documents) and
help the see how this is timely and relevant to them.

ACT: To draw out specific points of action inspired by sound Christian judgment, and to commit to
actualize it in one’s faith life.

In order to maximize the experience from the track, the following qualities are to be considered in
designing the track program:

 Participatory / interactive: allows involvement of participants in the teaching-learning process

 Dynamic: uses various strategies (not just inputs, but also sharing, group dynamics, etc.) in
developing and deepening the topic, making the process more experiential

 Thematic: relates the topic with the main theme of the DYC2019

 Proactive: elicits concrete responses to faith-life of the young according to the discoveries in the track

 Inspiring: creates a sense of enthusiasm for them to respond to the challenge posed by the topic
because of new learning and renewed perspective

 Continuous: identifies specific way/s of furthering the awareness and insights gained
