Theme of Course
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a new revolutionary
concept in electricity infrastructure for enabling
better communication and automation. The modern
electricity grid is evolving as Smart Grid (SG) by
using technological innovation to make it more
efficient and reliable.IoT is a new information
processing and data acquisition method, widely used
in Smart Grid applications. IoT, namely “the internet
in which the things are connected to each other” is
the extension and expansion of internet based
network into physical devices and objects. Presently,
IoT applications in electricity sector has emerged as a
significant research topic in the global power
industry.

Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology
(MANIT), Bhopal is an Institute of national
importance and one of the proficient engineering
institutes of India, which contributed many
outstanding professionals for India and abroad. The
institute was established in the year 1960. At present,
the institute is conducting undergraduate,
postgraduate degree courses and Ph.D. programmes
in different disciplines of engineering and applied
sciences.
Department of Electrical Engineering is one of the
oldest departments of MANIT and offers one B.Tech.
course, two M. Tech. courses (Electric Drives and
Power System) and Ph. D. program. It has well-
qualified and experienced faculty.
