The DermaClip® device is a single-use, non-invasive, needle-less skin closure device that is designed to
achieve full eversion on each skin closure. This is accomplished through a patented design that
incorporates a plastic structures that mates a "Living Hinge" sandwiched between two layers of alkylate-
based adhesive to a ratchet mechanism so as to lift the skin in the closure process and evert it.

For larger wounds, the distance between the two sides can be expanded beyond the initial width. Just
gently pull the adhesive pads apart to create the additional distance between the sides. After expanding
the device to bridge the gap between the wound edges, manually approximate the wound to allow
placement of the DermaClip® devices.

Versatile Enough for Most Wounds

The fact that the DermaClip® devices are segmented into individual units makes the device extremely
versatile when closing wounds. The Large DermaClip® is perfect for a long, straight incisions or if there is
tissue loss that has created a gap between the wound edges. The Regular DermaClip® has a more
slender profile, making it ideal for situations where wounds have curvature, are smaller, or need more
precise skin edge approximation.

Strong Enough to Hold, yet gentle

DermaClip® is made of top-of-the-line, non-latex, long-duration adhesive. The adhesive is strong enough
to effectively maintain wound closure for 7 to 10 days while remaining gentle enough for use on fragile
skin. The DermaClip® device is made from non-latex materials.

This gentle adhesive is designed to work well works well on fragile, diabetic or geriatric skin. The
adhesive based spreads the tension of the closure across the entire pad, reducing the focal tension on
the skin edges that leads to additional trauma and skin tearing.

The goal of the DermaClip® device is to eliminate trade-offs in skin closure between time of closure and
quality of patient care. The DermaClip® device's ability to be used on patients with fragile skin enables it
to be one of the most complete closure solutions on the market.

Just a few minutes of simple training allows even lesser-trained staff to achieve proper wound
closure, allowing DermaClip® to benefit even more patients. The DermaClip® application process
is as simple as "Pick, Place and Pull." Simply, Pick the device off the backing paper; pinch
approximate the wound and Place the device; and Pull the tabs closed. Simple, quick and no
danger of needle stick injuries (NSIs).
Surgeons just being introduced to the device were able to close an approximately 3-inch surgical
incision in less than 2 minutes (as seen in the video on the DermaClip® Device page). With
experience and proper technique, even better results can be achieved.

The speed of the device makes it perfect for applications ranging from emergency scenarios all
the way to the operating room. Additionally, the non-invasive nature of the device allows it to be
removed without damaging the wound; therefore, the DermaClip ® device can also be used as a
temporary closure for triage situations where additional follow-up treatment is required.
