The understanding of industry ethics began with the Optik project, as Optik's work was
the first time I officially participated in industry ethics and its importance to the industry.
At Optik, we have a group of 9 people. These 9 people come from different countries.
We need to work together. It is really difficult for me to contact me for the first time.
Because everyone has their own ideas and self-culture, they need to reasonably
arrange each person's ideas and get ideas that everyone agrees with. In the course of
performing the task, we use two platforms and one application as the communication
method. First of all, Google Drive, everyone will go looking for research, everyone will
complete their tasks every week, these tasks will be uploaded to Google Drive for
collective sharing and organization. The second platform is Trello. This is an efficient
and mature office method. We can follow up on the progress of each member of our
group at any time on the platform. On the Monday of each week, our team leader will
lead us according to The content presented on Trello is reported for efficient work, and
everyone can be assigned tasks after reporting and presented on Trello. Everyone's
progress is very intuitive. Our private communication is done through messenger on
Facebook, which I think is very effective. Because after the end of the work, the mail
communication method is very slow, but the telephone communication is not enough
to respect each other, and we need a group to discuss together, so we chose the
messenger communication method. It turns out that we are right, because messenger
can contact every member in time and know the work situation in time, even when at
home.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both with other engineers and
with stakeholders from different fields
Optik can cultivate our creativity and innovation, because our superiors will bring us
some challenging tasks. For example, the first challenge in our internship is how to
optimize the ventilation system of building1 and let us play. Imagine the idea of a
ventilation system. During the internship process, each member's nationality is different,
and team members will also think differently through different life backgrounds. During
the internship, we need to improve the building ventilation of the University of
Technology Sydney. For all students, this is a project that has never been touched, and
we are full of curiosity and curiosity. These activities will inspire our creativity and
enhance our team's confidence in the project. We entered the UTS building
management system with the help of our superiors. We can familiarize ourselves with
the ventilation structure of all floors in the system and make our own judgments to
improve. I believe that in a creative and proactive environment, everyone can be better
motivated and learn more knowledge and skills.
Demonstrated ability to use and manage information
The cost estimate and the feasibility of the design are the criteria for the final
assessment of our project. By leveraging the advantages of the platform, we can fully
manage the known information and clarify the tasks of each person. We store
information and research materials through Google Drive. When the customer does not
understand a certain problem, we can quickly retrieve our Google drive. After that, he is
presented with our answer to his question. If the problem is not retrieved, we will use
this question as the scope of the next study. In each work report summary, we can also
make full use of this platform for communication, which can solve almost all
emergencies. This also gives me experience in information management, and then I can
use Google drive for information storage when faced with the same synergy. Make
complex work more effective.
As a member of the team, each of us needs leadership. In the team, we must work hard
to complete the task. Our mission is to improve ventilation. Each of us must manage
our team and each other. Supervision, for example, when Trello's progress is in question
or when problems are found on Google Drive, we will promptly give feedback to team
members. Although these are the periods that leaders need to consider, each of us
should be responsible for this and timely supervision of team members. Complete the
tasks that should be completed this week. During the internship, there are often
problems, such as late arrivals or early departures, which require everyone to supervise
each other, and everyone has the responsibility of supervising members. In the weekly
reporting process, everyone needs to be active in speaking and take responsibility for
what they should bear. The leader may be more concerned with the overall task
schedule, and each member's task is to actively cooperate with the leader's work.
I hope that I can use what I have learned in my internship, play a role in future projects,
improve my personal abilities, and I hope to explain them in the interview.
