Section I. Executive Summary

Sweet PB is a small food business that will provide high satisfaction to the consumers by
offering great quality of our products, genuine services and affordable prices to the target
market.
The target market includes the University of Makati residents since we the owners
noticed that most students love to buy pancakes outside the campus. We the owners are also in
relating to the situation that we also buy pancake outside the campus. Therefore, one of the
owner invented this type of pancake that suits to the students taste. We, the owners want to
offer cupids pancake to our friends, schoolmates, colleagues, family and to those people who
wants to share our specialty to their ones.
Section II. Description of the Business

A. Company Overview

Sweet PB is located at J.P Rizal Ext. West Rembo, Makati City. Since the company is
school based, this can affect the number of customers because of the large population of the
University of Makati. This business is operated by five individual who share management and
profits and it is categorize as “Partnership”. This is a service type business that offers a broad
range of treats and desserts. Sweet PB caters to all of its customers by providing each pancake
balls made to suit the customers, down to smallest detail. We give our hearts and best to every
pancake balls we make.
The Sweet PB is a micro business that consists of 5 employees. We have a limited number
of employees but we are willing to work hard for it. Micro-business is a workplace that consists
of small quantity of employees usually up to 9. The Sweet PB is a small business venture. To
achieve our vision, Sweet PB shall produce one-of-a-kind products that will attract the
customers at first sight, satisfying their cravings and meeting their products. By the year 2019,
Sweet PB shall be a well-known business through offering unique sweets and delicacies which
can serve as a gift not only for loved ones, friends but also to one’s self, giving a feeling of relief
from stressful days. Sweet PB was formed on January 2018, in compliance for the owners’
entrepreneurship subject. Because of the owners’ interest in sweets, such as chocolate, and
pancakes, they decided to combine the two to create the unique product offered up to this day.
The business is willing to do deliveries as well as meet ups in transacting with customers.

B. Nature of the Business

Sweet PB offers pancake balls which we call “cupid’s pancake”. We all know that a pancake
is a flat cake and because of that, we want to sell a new pancake made product that will satisfy
people’s craving for sweets. The product can also be bought as a gift for friends, loved ones,
and even for ones’ self. The business aims to provide pancake balls to the University of Makati
students.
Cupid’s Pancake is a pancake ball stuffed with chocolate filling and coated in white
chocolate. It is a unique product that is not usually sold at the University of Makati.

C. Key Characteristics of the Industry

The food industry is a complex, global collective of diverse businesses that supplies most of
the food consumed by the world population. The food production industry is very big and it is
considered as one of the most important part of the economy. With this large-scale business
industry, the myriad choices to the types of food products to produce and sell is very broad.
With this, various businesses with their specialization to different or to a specific type of food
offer different kinds of product to the consumers.
Sweet PB, a micro business, is a food processing type of business compelled to bring out
the unique environment of sweets in a new and unique way. The business is a partnership type
of business owned by 5 people. Sweet PB’s Cupid’s Pancake was created because of the
owners’ interest in sweets and pancakes. Compared to other products, our product offers the
combination of chocolate and pancake into one tasty dessert. The business offers a unique
product, it is new to the eyes of almost everyone. Lack of funds can prove to be a problem in the
business as well as the product’s packaging. Since the product’s former package was
cellophane, it was replaced with clear plastic wrapper so that it will not affect the product’s taste
and smell, as well as its moisturization. The selling of the product became successful because
of its uniqueness and taste.

E. Strategic Management

For the next few months, Sweet PB is aiming to gain a name in the food industry. Making
Sweet PB one of the best producers of sweet products and delicacies for its customers. And in
the following years, Sweet PB’s goal is to be a successful and well-known manufacturer of
various sweet products that the costumer shall patronize.

F. Compelling, Market-Driven Reason Why This Business Will Succeed

In terms of appearance, it is new to the eyes of the target market. It was come up from the
ideas of graham balls and the usual flat pancake that the customers know. Its taste is
extraordinary sweet in which the white chocolate coated and another chocolate fillings in
chocolate flavored pancake were combined to produce a perfect cupid’s pancake.

A. Target Market and Trade Area


Sweet PB is a business where the product is available for everyone especially for those who
loves pancakes, sweets and chocolates. Sweet PB is located at University of Makati J.P Rizal
Ext., West Rembo, Makati City.

B. Product/Services
Sweet PB is a business which products are related to pancakes. One of the products is what
we called Cupids Pancakes ball. It is the type of pancakes which formed into a ball shape. It has
a chocolate filling inside while the outer appearance is coated with white chocolate with red and
pink colors. It has also topped by sprinkles with assorted colors. It has a great texture and an
equal sweetness. It can attract customers from the first sight that’s why it makes it harder to
resist buying one.
Cupids Pancake Ball of Sweet PB has its different packaging from primary packaging to the
tertiary packaging. The primary packaging for each CPB is a thin transparent plastic knotted
with pink or red ribbon and attached with its own logo. The secondary packaging is made up of
a big transparent cellophane contains with 8 pieces of Cupid’s Pancake. Just like the primary
packaging it is also knotted with a pink or red ribbon and a logo attached to it. The tertiary
packaging of CPB is a box contained paper and has its own logo, statement or greetings
depending on the season.

C. Competitive Advantage
Competitive is the act on the process of competitive on rivalry on the effort of two or more
parties acting independently to secure the business of a third party by offering the most
favourable terms. Sweet PB’s CPB can be the rival of the graham balls and the original
pancakes. But they don’t know that CPB has its own uniqueness. If and the combination of the
pancakes and graham ball, that’s why, we, as the organizers or the owners of sweet PB can say
that we have our own products uniqueness differ from our rivals.

D. Marketing Strategies
Sweet PB will be using social media marketing strategy. Social media platform now
offers business of all sizes unprecedented opportunities to reach new consumers. Facebook,
Twitter, Youtube, and Instagram can be used for Sweet PB’s Cupid’s Pancake. We will be using
twitter, and Facebook to share discounts, specials, contents, and news, about our product and
many more. We can post photos of our product using Instagram with Hashtags to reach new
customers and we will engage users of social media by tagging on Facebook and Twitter. We
can also create informative and entertaining videos on Youtube and Facebook about our
products.
Using the social media sites mentioned above, the following are examples of what our
overall business aim might be, and marketing strategies that we could use to achieve it:

- improving customers loyalty

F. Marketing Tactics
Sweet PB’s Cupid’s Pancakes is great for everyone. If they buy 12 pieces in a box,
there’s a free delivery if they want us to deliver it to the person who they want to give it to. There
is also a free blank letter for them to express their feelings and also if they buy 15 pieces and
more, three of it is given 50% off.
Section IV. Management / Organizational Plan

A. Owner and Management


The manager, Janrhea C. Bermudez, is capable of managing the whole business as well as
her business partners. The marketing manager, Rojith C. Aletre, is capable of reaching out to
the customers with the use of his “charismatic” attitude and unique advertisements. The cook,
Earl David C. Alejandro, is the one who is capable of making and preparing the product to be
sold to the consumers. The Financial Manager, Haideliza O. Guzon, has the capabilities of
managing the finances of the business. And lastly, the logistic and artistic manager, Erika
Stephanie N. Altez, the one who is capable of creating intangible assets for the company and
designs the appearance of the product offered.
B. Employees
The business will not be hiring additional employees because the owners themselves are
already capable of handling the business. Janrhea C. Bermudez will be the manager, she is the
one who manages the firm and the employees. Erika Stephanie N. Altez, the secretary, is
responsible for disseminating information about the business’ operations and other manageable
aspects to the other owners. The cashier, Haideliza O. Guzon, is responsible for handling the
money that the business receives from the consumers. Earl David C. Alejandro, the chef, is
responsible for the creation of the product/s that will be sold to the consumers. And lastly, Rojith
C. Aletre, the delivery boy and/or service crew, is responsible for the deliveries of the product to
the consumers as well as assisting consumers in ordering at the business’ branch.

The consultants and advisors for our business shall be the following:
Ms. Haideliza O. Guzon – since she is already a part of our company, it is ideal that she is the
main accountant for our business.
Mrs. Jambalos – she is the adviser of the owners of the business.

We, the business owners are ready for open communication with each partner and
especially, customers to encourage growth for the business in the customers and owner’s fitting
standards. This will ensure the business’ improvement overall in terms of the product offered
and in the quality of service.

Simple management strategy will be used with consideration to the size of the business
being handled by the overall manager/s. The assigned manager will be the one who divides and
assigns various tasks and reports to the different heads in their specialization in the business.
Section V. Operational Plan

A. Location and Equipment


This business is located at University of Makati, J.P Rizal Ext. West Rembo, Makati City.
Because the owners themselves are grade 12 students taking up ABM course on the said
university.

B. Hours of Operation
The business starts operating from Monday to Friday only. Starting 8 A.M for the employee
mandatory office hours and 9 A.M for opening hour of the store, to 3 P.M. We also operate on
holidays and special occasions like Valentine Day.

C. How do you Design, Source, Purchase, Produce and Distribute?


The business take action to the product. We increase the size of the product and also, we
change the packaging to make it better.

D. Data Management
Files from the company computers such as monthly income, monthly expenses, monthly
salaries to the employees, the intangible assets such as logos, advertisements, etc. are
stored in the by the logistics and artistic head by Ms. Altez.
And as for the paper files for the financial aspect of our business. It is the duty of
Ms. Haideliza O. Guzon to produce monthly reports for the company and store them in the
company stock files secured by herself.
Finally, the company legal papers such as DTI permits, Mayor’s Permit, BIR, Employee’s
resumes are stored by the president herself, Ms. Janrhea C. Bermudez.

E. Intellectual Property

All intellectual properties such as logos, advertisement etc. are patent and was copyrighted
under the rights of Sweet PB. This information is confident and shall only be used with
permission of the management.

F. Risk Management
The business will follow the basic emergency plans such as providing extra funds in case of
unexpected events that could affect the business’ performance and finances. This will help the
business avoid freezing of assets, productivity, and shortage in funds.
G. Insurance
The business will be offering Workers’ compensation insurance, this will cover the medical
treatment, disability and death benefits in the event an employee is injured or dies as a result of
his/her work with that business. Professional liability insurance (also known as errors and
omissions insurance), covers the business against negligence claims due to harm that results
from mistakes or failure to perform. Property insurance which covers equipment, signage,
inventory, and furniture in the event of a fire, storm, or theft. However, mass-destruction events
(namely floods and earthquake) will not be covered since it is not generally covered under
standard property insurance policies.
The business will also have Product liability insurance, which works to protect a business in
such a case, with coverage available to be tailored specifically to a specific type of product. The
business interruption insurance will also be applied, this will compensate for the business’ loss
of income during unexpected disaster or catastrophic events.

H. Taxes

The business is created and shall operate under the municipality of Makati City,
all of the proper documentations, requirements, legal papers that are required for the
continuation of the business are met under this governance.
Under the taxation types. The business is listed under the sales tax. It is needed
for the monthly taxation of the business. And the income tax for the company’s
employees.

The business is registered under the municipality of Makati with it’s mayor’s
permit. The business is also registered on the Department of Trade and Industry or the
DTI. The bureau of internal revenue or the BIR for it’s taxation.
