I am a graduate student of engineering at University of Technology Sydney, and I have a

bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering from South-east University College. To
widen my experience in the work, I want to apply for an internship.

This is my last semester in the university, and I am very interested in the internship
opportunities offered by Industrus Engineering industry. This will be an opportunity for me
to leave campus and integrate into society smoothly. Through six years' study of mechanical
engineering, I have mastered the basic knowledge and can skillfully use mechanical drawing
software, such as Auto-Cad, ProE and Solidworks. I think this internship can help me apply
the knowledge and skills I have acquired into practical work, which will help me better
understand the industry. This internship can help me understand more practical problems in
work and accumulate solutions to practical problems.

1. A commitment to ethical conduct and the highest standards of professional accountability

(3.1)

During my internship, I was assigned to participate in the assessment of accident

commissioners, commissioners needed to conduct a series of standard operations at the
simulated accident site. In this evaluation, I am responsible for grading the performance of
commissioners, their final evaluation report may affect their positions and income. For this
reason, when some of the commissioners were not doing well in the review, they came to
me and asked me to lower their requirement on their performance. At this time, I feel
ambivalent, they usually have a good relationship with me, I don't know how to refuse
them. Finally, I reported it to my supervisor. She told me that in order to make better use of
resources, traditional automobile companies often send tow truck workers to the accident
site, but their expertise is limited, and their judgment and emergency ability for on-site
problems are also relatively limited, the impact of the accident is always expanded, which is
a highly irresponsible behavior to customers. NIO set up an accident management
department and selected accident commissioners through rigorous assessment to avoid this
phenomenon. Professional technicians in automobile service stores are equipped with
abundant automobile professional knowledge and accurate accident assessment ability,
which can better help solve problems and reduce the company's operating costs.
Finally, I evaluated everyone according to the standards, and they said they understood my
decision. I also received praise for fulfilling the ethics and standard of professional
accountability.

2. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both with other engineers and with
stakeholders from different fields (3.2)

During my internship, I was required by my supervisor to make weekly data reports. At the
beginning, I was at a loss about the huge database, and I didn't even know how to find the
needed data. I reported the situation to my supervisor, and I was then scheduled to meet
with the data engineer at the company's headquarters. My supervisor asked me to talk to
data engineers about the demands of operation department while learning data processing
methods, so as to obtain data convenient for our daily work. After a day of communication, I
completed my task very well. I learned a lot of advanced data processing methods and put
forward our suggestions to help data engineers improve their work. Since then, we have
kept in touch with each other, and we communicated about each other's work almost every
day, which improved our work efficiency. Through this internship, I understood the
importance of communication in teamwork, this experience also developed my
communication skills.

3. The ability to engage with a creative, innovative and proactive environment (3.3)

The automobile industry has changed in recent years. Electric power, intelligence and
Internet connection have gradually become the future of the automobile industry. The
electric vehicle market has been developing in recent years, but it will encounter many
problems. As one of the earliest pioneers in the development of electric vehicles in China,
NIO's development process was not smooth.
During my internship, we always have some new problems to discuss and solve. My working
environment is very open. In the weekly meeting, the manager will raise questions,
everyone can put forward their own ideas, and finally find the best solution through
discussion. In a discussion, the manager proposed that NIO as the pioneer of new energy
vehicles, aiming to create a pleasant lifestyle for users. What measures should be taken to
provide users with an experience beyond their expectations. After discussion, our group put
forward two Suggestions. Firstly, charging piles are searched through the intelligence
system based on the Internet to plan the most reasonable travel plan for users. Use GPS
location to inform the owner of the current vehicle condition and road condition
information. Secondly, based on safety and comfort, the intelligence system automatically
detect whether the owner is tired or not. If the driving time exceeds two hours, the seat will
automatically vibrate and prompt the owner to rest. At last our idea was adopted by the
manager, it was an inspiration to our team. Through this experience, I knew that a positive
company atmosphere is helpful to the development. It also made me understood the
importance of creativity and positive attitude in my future career.

4. Demonstrated ability to use and manage information (3.4)

From the perspective of operation, data report is a report that can guide the operation
direction. An excellent data report can well summarize the current working situation and
provide direction for the future work. During my internship, I was required by my supervisor
to prepare weekly and monthly reports. Due to the huge amount of information in the
company's database, I found it very difficult to prepare the reports for the first few weeks.
In order to alleviate this situation, I began to record some important data every day instead
of searching for the needed information from the huge database. I also learned how to use
Excel and other software efficiently from data engineers in the company, which made me
more proficient in data processing. In the following weeks, I could find the information I
needed immediately and complete my report quickly and efficiently. When my supervisor
checked my statements, she seldom found errors in the data, and even arranged me to use
these statements to summarize the work of my colleagues. Through this internship, I think I
have mastered some data management methods which can help me in my future work.

5. The ability to manage your own performance in a professional environment (3.5)

In the workplace, self-management is a high-level participatory management, through self-

management, we can have more control over what we do, and at the same time, we will
take more responsibilities. If we have the ability to manage ourselves, it will not only
increase our job satisfaction, but also motivate us to improve our performance and work
efficiency.

During my internship, the first half of my time was spent in the workshop, I learned the
knowledge of automobile assembly technology and structure. After getting familiar with the
work content, I found that there is very little work, the working hours were very short. Then
I applied to my supervisor to take part in the operation and management of the company to
learn some other knowledge. My supervisor approved my application and began to let me
do some after-sales work, such as data processing and personnel arrangement. This is a
strange field for me. In the following learning process, I gradually understood the knowledge
and methods of management. This change of work content is an overall promotion for me.

6. A demonstrated ability to work as a part of a team and to show leadership when required (3.6)

During the internship, my supervisor assigned me the task of making all the arrangements
for some accident commissioners. The commissioners in our office need to serve the users
face to face, they need to get back accident vehicles when the car has gone wrong. They
also need to help users when the customers have an accident. These conditions could occur
at any time, how to schedule sufficient during working hours, especially peak business hours
become very important. After a period of internship, I found that keep records is the most
effective way. I started to record what each colleague is doing and where are they. The
tables can help him assign tasks to colleague who is free, and ensure the workload is
reasonable to everyone. In addition, keep in touch with other group members is necessary.
It can help him monitor the real time condition. Make every group member have the same
workload is another important factor, that makes other members would follow his
arrangement without complaint. When they face unexpected situation or unplanned tasks,
the colleagues who are free would willing to help him.
My work as a leader was recognized by my supervisors. During that time, I arranged all the
tasks reasonably, which improved our work efficiency. Leadership skills, which I gained
during my internship can be helpful in my future career.
