Mortality rate
Monitoring of rice weevils will be done after 12, 24 36, and 48hrs after feeding with
modified rice grains. Mortality rate will be computed using Abbott’s formula (Abbott, 1925).
Abbott’s formula:
𝑛 in T after treatment
𝐶𝑜𝑟𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑒𝑑 % = (1 − 𝑛 in Co after treatment ) x 100

where:
n = insect population
T = Treated
Co = control
