CHAPTER I

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

Education has always been a privilege especially among the poor, it requires financial

capability. Today’s high school curriculum which is supposed to be 4 years only but now another

2 years in senior high must be completed before actually taking up college. Philosophy subject

has a big effect to a student to know oneself and to think critically. That’s why philosophy has a

big impact on a student on a daily basis. It changes the psychological attitude of the student it

also refers to the set of emotion, beliefs and behavior of a student who takes the subject of

philosophy which is grade12 student of Vedasto R. Santiago High School toward a particular

subject or person or thing or even event and also the nature. The attitude are often the results of

experience or upbringing. They can have a powerful influence over behavior sighted by vaerlan

2018 (Wikipedia) This subject (philosophy) may change the daily living of a student.

Statement of the Problem

The researcher coveted to distinguish the impact of philosophy subject impact on student

daily living of the grade 12 student

Specifically it sought answers for the following questions:

1. What are the student perception about philosophy impact on student daily living?

2. Are you aware of having a philosophy subject in grade 12? Why?

3. How does the philosophy subject change your beliefs?


4. How philosophy subject affect in terms of:

1.1 Student

1.2 Teachers

1.3 Peers

Hypothesis

There is no significant difference between Philosophy Subject: Impact on Student Daily

Living.

Conceptual Framework

The human adaptive system and domains of knowledge, while also focusing on the

human as a problem solver who, through the application of a technological method model, could

identity and address problem of opportunities and solve problem using resource and

technological process while considering the outcomes and consequences of such activity.

Significance of the Study

The purpose of the study is to analyze the effects of philosophy subject impact on student

daily living of selected Grade 12 student of Vedasto R. Santiago High School.

Students: To be able to improve their learning with the help of technology.

Teachers. To be able to know their student behavior and attitude if ever it has.
Scope and Limitation

This study focused on selected Grade 11 students of VRSHS, school year 2018-2019

about philosophy subject impact on student daily living. The research sample is equally

distributed to 5 student from Grade 12-Gold and also 5 student from Grade 12-Silver and 5

student from Grade 12-Tungsten and 5 student from Grade 12-Nickel and 5 student from

Grade12-Copper. The method used to gather data was through giving survey questionnaire to

know the effect of Philosophy subject impact on student daily living. Random Sampling will be

used to give all the students an equal representation

The data was based on the test questionnaire that was answered by the VRSHS senior

high school students based on the Philosophy Subject impact on student daily living.
CHAPTER II

METHODOLOGY

This chapter presents the procedures and techniques that used in conducting the study. It

includes the research design, data gathering techniques, sampling procedure and data analysis

scheme.

Research Design

The study employed a mixed method research that is quantitative and qualitative

methods of research to find if there are significant relationship existed Philosophy Subject

impact on student daily living of the grade 12 students.

Under the quantitative method is the descriptive technique that were employed in

gathering responses from the senior high school student and teachers. The descriptive method is

use to obtain information by means of a questionnaire. Then a follow up qualitative approach by

means of personal interview to give a clear scenario on the gathered data from the quantitative.
Data Gathering Techniques

In this study, the researchers will use five student for each section of Grade 12 student to

conduct my research. They will be given a questionnaire which are the survey and three

interview guide.

Sampling Procedure

Data Analysis Scheme

The statistical treatment of the data was presented using frequency distribution,

percentage, weighted mean.

Likewise, frequency distribution and weighted mean were also used to describe the philosophy

subject impact on student daily living of the grade 12 students.

Philosophy Subject were described using the point Likert Scale presented as follows:

Descriptive-Correlational analysis was used to determine the effects of technology in improving

the teaching-learning process of the grade 11 students.

Pearson-Correlation Analysis was employed to determine the relationship in

improving the teaching-learning process of the grade 11 students.
