NARRATIVE REPORT:

The Arki Expo 2018 or Architectural Exposition was a first-time event hosted by
UAPSA which was an orientation, membership drive and general assembly for the
freshmen architecture students. The event was planned one week prior to the start of
classes of the 1st semester of s.y. 2018-2019. A contribution of 35.00 php per student
was agreed upon to cater the non-compulsory one-day event due to budget constraints
and insufficient funds of the previous balance.
Half past 8:00 am, the students gradually gather filling the seats of the SJIT
Multi-Media Center. The officers were busy printing the certificates and waited for the
Speaker to come, the program started off at 9:30 in the morning. After the invocation
was done, Ar. Rhea Vanessa Omay welcomed the students with her invigorating
address. After that, an intermission number was performed by the fourth-year
architecture students to entertain the audience.
A slideshow of the officers was then played on the screen, while each of them
was called on stage to introduce them to the students especially to the freshmen. After
that, Ar. Jayrold Villarta, the speaker gave the students an awe-inspiring and
motivational message, which was then applaud by the crowd. The presidents of the
organization and department, namely Lindsy Dy and Eden Jane Managbanag gave their
overview report of events for the fiscal year, presenting wacky and fun videos of the
previous year’s series of activities. And then, the officers had taken their oath.
After the program in the morning was done, the continuation in the afternoon was
preceded by lunch and preparation of the stations for the team building and arki
competitions. The program continued off at approximately quarter to 2pm,
simultaneously undergone with the architectural competitions. The students then
proceeded to SJIT ANNEX covered court for the highlight of the event “Team Building”.
The program went off really well, allowing the freshmen and senior architecture students
to get along with each other and perform a new bond. Certificates was then given to
each of the students and the program was ended with smiles on their faces.
