PEACE CORPS 2017-2019


Community Agribusiness Coordinator – Ntegeka Initiative, Uganda, Africa
• Conducted over 131 seminars with 42 groups partnering with Ntegeka’s Skills Training Program – almost 1,000 individuals were taught to make products
that would generate income, provide nutrition, and offer malaria prevention. Created an entrepreneurship course that taught feasibility studies, marketing,
sales strategies, and basic accounting and introduced it into four schools.
• Awarded and managed a Peace Corps grant which paid for materials used in training seminars for low-income farmers, youth, and women.
• Led in the development of innovative products to increase the organization’s income and aid in community development. Co-produced Ntegeka’s Skills Fair,
a media event to showcase members’ innovative products.
• Trained local instructors in finance (record-keeping, budgeting, and savings) and nutrition (good nutrition, malnutrition, vitamins/minerals, and sustainable
gardening). Taught about malaria prevention, myths, and treatment with a program I created called “What’s the Buzz,” which earned first place in the
Malaria Challenge, 2019.
• Created office organization/presentation tools including an interactive activity calendar, NCDA wall, Ntegeka in Action wall, and group/school program
register sheets, for which I was named Best Individual in Record Keeping, 2019. Taught business card design and created product labels using Adobe
Illustrator, and introduced social media by creating a Facebook page for the project.
• Conducted three volunteer events in the district for Ntegeka volunteers and local citizens including Green Belt Project (turning a garbage dump into a
park), Health Center 4 (clean up and dust bin donations which are in current use), and Caesars Hospital clean up.
• Founded the Dream Again Development Center, which offers vocational classes such as motorcycle repair to help students gain skills to produce income.

SHERWIN-WILLIAMS PAINTS 2016-2017


Sales Associate, Key Holder, Petaluma CA
• Responsible for supporting the sales efforts at a Sherwin-Williams paint store; serviced wholesale and retail customers and determined appropriate
products based on their needs. Accurately completed sales transactions, maintained accurate work order files and formulas, and pulled appropriate
products from the sales floor or warehouse, tinting and mixing them to customer specifications.

AMERICORPS 2015- 2016


Agency Relations, Second Harvest Food Bank, Watsonville, CA
• Managed the food bank’s partnerships with over 100 agencies, monitoring compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations; oversaw inventory and
distribution of products. Supervised up to 15 volunteers in the operations and distribution center.
• Assisted in graphing volume of distribution reports and created logistics program which mapped distribution routes for maximum efficiency, cost savings,
and increased productivity.
• Developed and submitted proposal for improving the distribution center by focusing on the shopping experience of agency clients. This included changing
the stacking of products for easy reach and visibility, customizing signs to expedite shopping, and changing the presentation of products so that open
cases were replaced with stocked shelves that were clearly labeled.
• Wrote monthly articles for the food bank’s blog covering subjects ranging from food safety to nutrition.
• Created instructional videos to educate clients about food safety, how the distribution center works, and who it serves, and to show appreciation of
volunteers and how their contributions support others.
• Recognized in newsletter’s Volunteer Spotlight for outstanding performance in August 2016.

G&G Grocery Store, Petaluma, CA 2009-2015


• As deli supervisor, was responsible for managing employees and ensuring customer satisfaction. Managed deli inventory, ordered product weekly to
maintain stock level and meet customer demands.
• Promoted from produce supervisor, where I oversaw produce department purchasing and forecasting. Supervised six full and part-time employees, kept
the department stocked, clean, and well organized, and utilized best practices in achieving customer satisfaction.
• Began as a courtesy clerk where I learned to serve the customer always with a smile and good attitude. Also worked as a stock clerk for the night crew,
back up checker, and managed cash for customer Service.

EDUCATION

Peace Corps Pre-Service Training (Luweero, Uganda) June 2017 – August 2017
• Intensive 3-month field-based training consisting of 143 hours of Ugandan language, 107 hours of technical training in agribusiness that included food
security, financial services, enterprise development services, value chain analysis, village saving and loan associations, post-harvest handling, and
perma-gardening, and 42 hours of cross-cultural training.
• Lived and interacted successfully with Ugandan host family during community-based training, and lived in a compound with designated host family for two
years of service as a volunteer.
