Previous knowledge : The students already know about electrolysis in industries such as metal extraction,
metal coating and metal purification.

General Learning Outcomes : Analysing voltaic cell.

Specific Learning Outcomes : At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

SLO 1. State verbally the energy change occurring inside a simple voltaic cell correctly.

SLO 2. Identify the negative terminal and the positive terminal based on the diagram

given.
SLO 3. Write the half equation and overall ionic equation for the reactions involving

various electrodes correctly.

SLO 4. Explain the reactions in a simple voltaic cell and Daniell cell verbally.
