PROJECT: 100 BEDDED ESI HOSPITAL, BHUBANESWAR, ODISHA.

A) BRIEF HISTORY:

The ESI Hospital, Bhubaneswar has been providing facilities of primary and
secondary care to ESI patients of Bhubaneswar Zone comprising of IPs of the Districts
of Khurda and Puri since 01.08.1997. Initially, the Hospital & Staff Quarters were
constructed in the year 1997 with a cost of Rs. 4.98 Crore on a plot area of 4.5 acres
with a design for 50 Beds having G+1 structure and built-up area of 6127 Sqm. the
Hospital has been commissioned as a 50-bedded Hospital with treatment facilities in
the Medicine, Surgery, O&G, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Pediatrics, Dental, Ayush
etc. Apart from the said In-house treatment facilities, the Hospital also functions as a
referral centre for patients who require Super Specialty treatment to Tie-up Hospitals.
Further routine pathological and radiology facilities are also available in the said
hospital which are managed by the In-House as well as Part-Time Specialists.

B) RENOVATION, CONSRUCTION OF ADDITIONAL FLOOR AND INCREASE IN

BED STRENGTH TO 100 BEDS.

Increase in the IP strength in the vicinity and to incorporate the modern facilities
to IPs, ESIC started the renovation and construction of additional floor in the
year 2009 with the estimated cost of Rs. 73.50 Crore. (Total Site area 19645
Sqm). The modern facilities were added and bed strength was increased to 100
beds.
