1. Setting layout for pipe to be laid and Head walls.
2. Survey layout Pillars to be got checked by supervising engineer. 3. Excavation for head wall shall be done. 4. Marking outer lines of lean concrete and shall be got checked in reference to survey pillar by Tape and Thread. 5. Arrangement shall be made for lean concrete. 6. Incase of making mix at site arrangement shall be made for measuring Boxes, Mixers Dry and clean coarse and fine aggregates, Water and approved cement. 7. Mix of M-10 grade shall be of nominal mix 1:3:6 mixed by mixer and laid manually by Head load in the pit true to line & level required. 8. Lean concrete shall be compacted by wooden trowel. 9. Head wall shall be caste up to inner level of pipe by putting formwork and checking its line-level by Tape & Thread in reference to survey Pillars. 10. Concrete shall be brought by Transit Mixer from Batching. 11. Concrete shall be well vibrated with Needle Vibrator. 12. Excavation for pipe shall be started. 13. Existing head wall shall be dismantled up to the bottom of Pipe. 14. Riverbed sand not coarser then 5.6 mm shall be used for bedding of pipe. 15. Bed shall be compacted by making it saturated by water and ramming with mechanically operated plate compactor. 16. Pipe shall be transported to position by Crane or Loader with wire rope tied to pipe and make correct to proper line and level manually by tripod and chain pulley arrangement. 17. As pipes are of internal flush joint type these joints shall be filled with 1:2 cement mortar excess mortar shall be removed. Joint shall be kept wet for 4 days. 18. Head wall’s lift shall be cast in the manner as described from sr. no. 9 to 11 18.A. Top lift of head wall shall be finished with hand trowel and required level shall be marked with paint on form work before concrete starts and finish to that level. 19. Concrete of head wall shall be cured by putting wet gunny bags or coating with some approved brand curing compound.(After getting approval from Engineer during the peak summer when there may be water crisis in the region) 20. Backfilling and trench filling shall be done in layers of 200 mm and shall be compacted by mechanically operated plate compactor. 21. No traffic shall be permitted to cross the pipe line till height of fill is not less then 600 mm above top of pipe. 22. During concrete operation stand by machinery and plants shall be listed before and shall be made available in case of any unexpected failure.
