BACOLOD, QUEEN ELIZABETH G.

September 9,2019
BSN-2A

1. As an NSTP student, what are your views when you see a family of scavengers
living beside a mountain of garbage?
- When I see them, it made me think how cruel the world is. Because not only in the
Philippines but in other countries there is a homeless or they are in a bad conditions of
life. It made me think that, if everyone has a big HEART I think there will be no poor people
living beside a mountain of garbage. If everyone has a compassion and care for each
other, there will be no corruption, gambling, fraud and anything that hinders our economy
and country to be rise up, so that the government can help all the poor people in our
country. The government will find ways to overcome our poverty. And they only do this if
everyone who sits in the government has a big HEART, and they will set aside their own
desires. As well as the normal citizens of our country.

2. Share your insights on how human rights are upheld in our country?
- Human rights are relevant to all of us, not just those who face repression or
mistreatment, but also for a normal citizen. They protect us in many areas of our day to
day life. Human rights give us a freedom to express our own opinions, right to have an
education, right to have a private and family life, and right not to be mistreated or wrongly
punished by the state.

3. Does NSTP have a place in responding to the present social, economic and
political inequalities? In what way can it respond to these inequalities?
- Yes, NSTP has a place in responding to our present social, economic and political
inequalities, by enhancement of skills on basic leadership with emphases on the ability to
listen and ability to communicate regarding some issues. It teaches the students and the
youths to be aware of the importance of engaging in the issues of our country regarding
of different issues of our social, economic and political issues. . By this, we can use our
rights to express our opinions and voice out our ideas.

4. The Constitution is important because

- It protects individual freedom, and its fundamental principles to govern the Philippines.
The Constitution places the government's power not only to them but also in the hands
of the citizens. It limits the power of the government and establishes a system of our
ideals and balances, that the government and citizens will decide on what we will do in
our country. For us to be a good citizens and to help develop our country.

5. Human rights are violated when

- When the state or government neglect its obligations to ensure that the rights of
all citizens are given. For example when they not listen to the voice of people and they
neglect our freedom to give an opinion prior to our economy.

As an NSTP student, I can help safeguard the implementation of the state policies by
following the rules and regulations and avoid violations in our law. I believe that discipline
starts within ourselves. Our economy will never change if we always depend on the
government and we do not do our part as a citizen of our country.
