LEARNING 5.1.1 Able to use nouns correctly and appropriately:
STANDARD (d) common nouns
LEARNING
OBJECTIVES By the end of this lesson, pupils will be able to :
1. Explore and list at least 15 common nouns in the bubble map.
2. Construct 5 sentences using common nouns individually.

TEACHING & 1. Teacher distributes some words and instructs pupils to work in group
LEARNING to categorize the words in singular or plural nouns.
ACTIVITIES 2. Teacher checks the words.
3. Teacher introduce and explain the concept of common noun and
provide examples/realia in the classroom to the pupils.
4. Pupils explore the nouns around them and write the nouns in bubble
map.
5. Pupils can use dictionary for correct spelling.
6. Teacher checks their answers.
7. Teacher chooses at random and asks the pupils to fill in the blanks
and answer the exercise on the whiteboard.
8. Pupils rewrite the correct answer in the exercise book after the
discussion.
9. Pupils reflect the lesson of the day.

LEARNING By end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:
OBJECTIVES 1. Recite the poem TOOTH with correct pronunciation and intonation.
2. Create ac acrostic poem using the word TOOTH in group

TEACHING & 1. Teacher shows pictures of a set of teeth with a missing tooth.
LEARNING (Appendix 1)
ACTIVITIES 2. Pupils talk about the pictures. Suggested questions to stimulate
discussion: What do you see in this picture? What do you think the
black image is?
3. Teacher recites the poem and pupils repeat with the correct
intonation and pronunciation.
4. Teacher distributes the template of a TOOTH. (Appendix 2)
5. Teacher shows an example of an Acrostic Poem of TOOTH. e.g.:
Twenty little Original and Odd shaped Teeth Help me eat, munch
and crunch…
6. Pupils create a simple poem using the letters: TOOTH
7. Pupils paste the poem on a piece of display sheet/ manila card.
8. Pupils present their work in group.
9. Pupils reflect the lesson of the day.

family.
4. Pupils who sit on the hot-seat talk about their family.

6. Pupils work in their group and use bubble map to list their ideas.
7. Teacher selects the group randomly to present their ideas.
8. Pupils present their ideas.
9. Teacher corrects the pupils if necessary.

ACTIVITIES 3. Pupils read and recognise words.
4. Teacher explains about the ingredients to make sandwich.

board.

work.
7. Pupils work individually and teacher discuss the answer.
8. Teacher asks the pupils to create a recipe to make different
sandwiches.
9. Pupils work in group and present their recipe verbally.
