MODE OPERATOIRE

1. Over view definition of modification:

 The ease the use tower crane for installing the mechanical installations inside the above
mentioned structure above level 7 a proposal for FCB to modify the columns with a splice in
the same level of the existing splice for column on axis 42.b in the 5 columns
 BRI propose to add the splice connection at site
 The typical splice plate designed in each corresponding column to be copied at the proposed
level to ensure
 The material and bolts will be provided by BRI if not aviable in FCB store
 The overall work will be done at worksite using the site regulation procedures for applying any
modifications
 Cutting will be the use of manual grinding discs while drilling will be with the magnetic drills
 To ensure correct drilling all splice plates will be drilled in place with columns before spliting
the columns
 The as buit drawings and a parts list are provided by BRI as copies of FCB drawing with a
higher revision no. Stam for FCB APPROVAL
 Upon FCB technical acceptance of the modification procedure to star tat site

2. prefabrication:
2.1 fabrication of splice plate
 the splice plate to be cut in the workshop as defined on materiial list and detail drawings
but not drilled as per detail drawing
2.2. cutting and drilling splice plates with columns
 The splice plates to be tack welded to each corresponding column in the position
defined on arrongement drawing CHL 1S2036H04-H05 revised by BRI and approved
By FCB
 Marking the positionof splitting and and its corresponding holes at each splice plate as
per detailed draxwings

 Marking to be cheked before drilling

 By the use of magnetic drill the holes on splice plate and columns to be drilled together
to confirm correctpositionning of holes on splice plates and columns to be drilled
together to confirm correct positionning of holes and splice plates relative to coumns
 After drilling the tack welds to be removed to separate the splice plates from colmns
 The splitting position defined on columns in now clear and columns are redy for
spliting
 Spliting to be carried out by use ofv the manual grider discs and no use of gas cutting is
permitted
 FCB supervisor to monitor all the operation and instruct operator as nessessary

 Columns to be lfted and installed as per submitted erection procedure
