Tenth class CBSE Exam Pattern - 2019

crucial for students to know the ins and outs of the exam. This year, CBSE (Central
Board of Secondary Education) has made some fundamental changes in the exam
pattern of the ‘CBSE Board Exam 2019’ for class tenth.

The matter of rejoice is that CBSE has introduced 33% Internal Choices in the exams.
Our experts believe that this change has been brought up so as to reduce the pressure
on the students’ tender minds. As you would know, in 2017, CBSE announced to
restore Class 10 Board Examinations from the Academic Session 2017-2018, after
seven years. Till 2016–17, the syllabus was divided into two terms. The restoration of
Board Exams, in 2017, burdened students with immense pressure of the entire
syllabus. This year, the board has tried to relax the pressure by introducing a great
deal of internal choice.

The change is good news for students. It will enhance the performance of students by
enabling them to attempt questions they feel confident about and thus help them
score more.

We believe that knowledge of structure of the exam plays significant role in enhancing
the performance of the students. To perform in the best of their abilities, students
deserve to know every single detail about the change in the exam pattern. Exam
pattern denotes –

a) Structure of the exam

b) No. of questions in each category
c) Distribution of marks and internal choices in the questions.

Surprisingly, no change has been introduced in English paper. All the structural
changes in the paper pattern of subjects like Hindi B, Science, Social Studies and
Mathematics have been explained in tabular form below:
