PHILIPPIANS
Chapter 1

1. What is Paul being confident about? Ans.: That he which hath begun a good
work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. (v.6)

2. What did Paul pray for the Philippian’s love? Ans.: That it may abound yet
more and more in knowledge and in all judgment. (v.9)

3. What are the follows when your love abounds yet more and more in knowledge
and in all judgment? Ans.: ye may approve things that are excellent; ye may be
sincere and without offence till the day of Christ. (v.10)

4. What is Paul in a strait betwixt two? Ans.: to depart, and to be with Christ; to
abide in the flesh. TDTA (v.23 to 24)

Chapter 2

1. If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any

fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, how is Paul’s joy fulfilled?
Ans.: that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one
mind (v.1 to 2)

2. Let nothing be done through ________________; but in ________________…

Ans.: strife or vainglory; lowliness of mind (v.3)

3. How is lowliness of mind shown? Ans.: each esteeming other better than
themselves (v.3)

4. Where should every man look onto? Ans.: not on his own things, but also on the
things of others (v.4)

5. What mind must be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus? Ans.: likeminded,
having the same love, being of one accord, of one accord, of one mind (v2&5)

7. What should every tongue do? Ans.: confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the
glory of God the Father (v.11)

8. How do you work out your salvation? Ans.: with fear and trembling (v.12)

9. What is God working in you (the Philippians)? Ans.: worketh in you both to will
and to do of his good pleasure (v.13)

10. Do all things without ______________ and ______________. Ans.: murmurings;

disputings (v.14)
11. When you do all things without murmurings and disputings: you will be
________________. Ans.: blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without
rebuke (BH-S-WR) (v.15)

14. How is Paul’s running and labouring shown as not in vain? Ans.: when the sons
of God holds forth the word of life (v.16)

15. Who was sent shortly to the Philippians, that I (Paul) also may be of good
comfort, when I (Paul) know your (Philippians) state? Ans.: Timothy (v.19) Note:

16. Who is Paul’s brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, …your
messenger and ministers to Paul’s wants? Ans.: Epaphroditus (v.25) Note:
Description of Epaphroditus (verses 25 to 30):
 he longed after you all
 he was full of heaviness
 he had been sick nigh to death
 because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, NOT
REGARDING HIS LIFE, to supply your lack of service toward me

Chapter 3

1. What should you beware of? Ans.: beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware
of the concision (v.2)

2. How are we the circumcision described? Ans.: worship God in the spirit, and
rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh (WRN) (v.3)

3. Description of Paul as mentioned in verses 5 to 6:

 Circumcised the eighth day,
 of stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin,
 an Hebrew of the Hebrews;
 as touching the law, a Pharisee;
 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church;
 touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

4. What were the things gained by Paul, but were counted loss in Christ? Ans.:
mentioned above #3 from verses 5 to 6

6. mine own righteous: righteousness which is of the law; faith of Christ:

righteousness which is of God by faith (v.9)
7. Paul counted not himself to have apprehended: but what is the one thing he does?
Ans.: forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those
things which are before (v.13)

9. They are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

 Whose end is destruction,
 whose God is their belly, and
 whose glory is in their shame,
 who mind earthly things (v.18-19)

10. How shall our vile body changed? Ans.: fashioned like unto his glorious body
(v.21)

Chapter 4

1. Who did Paul beseech that they be of the same mind in the Lord? Ans.: Eudias;
Syntyche (v.2)

2. What should be known to all men? Ans.: Your moderation

3. TAKE NOTE verses 4 to 7

4. Six (6) whatsoever things and two (2) if there be any mentioned in verse 8 that
we should think on:
 whatsoever things are TRUE, √ if there be any VIRTUE,
 whatsoever things are HONEST, √ if there be any PRAISE.
 whatsoever things are JUST,
 whatsoever things are PURE,
 whatsoever things are LOVELY,
 whatsoever things are OF GOOD REPORT,

5. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in
me, DO: and the God of peace shall be with you. (v.9)

6. When Paul departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as

concerning giving and receiving, ONLY the PHILIPPIANS did so.
