Word Flippers are a great tool for practicing concepts taught in the All About® Reading
lessons. More than seventy-five Word Flippers are included throughout the All About®
Reading program.
These handy tools reinforce all sorts of reading concepts, from simple CVC (consonant-
vowel-consonant) words such as bit, to words with final blends such as fast, to words
with consonant suffixes and prefixes such as thankfully, and many more.
All you need to create a Word Flipper is a few activity pages, a pair of scissors, and a
stapler. In a matter of minutes, your Word Flippers are ready to go. Want to give them
a try? Just choose the flippers that are closest to your child’s reading level and see for
yourself what a great tool they are!

 How to Assemble Word Flippers
Each page will create one Word Flipper.
1. Cut apart the page on the dotted lines.

2. Put the larger pieces of paper on the bottom and stack the smaller pieces on top.
Note that some Word Flippers will be stacked on the left side and some on the
right side.

3. Staple the Word Flipper along the left or right side, as indicated.

4. Have your student turn the pages and read the words that are formed.
