1.In what specific ways can you contribute to the attainment of the DepEd Mandate in the following
areas?

Implementation of policies, plans, programs and projects in:

Formal Basic Education

Implementing the DepEd mandate in formal basic education through providing the learners with
substantial delivery of the lessons and making sure that the policies, plans, programs and projects will
be monitored through setting goals and objectives which are aligned with the DepEd Mission and Vision.

Alternative Learning System:

I can promote quality education and make it accessible to all. I will be fulfilling my service to the best
that I can. I will also provide a conducive environment for ALS which does not compromise substantial
instructional delivery. I have to make sure that I am using the strategic direction of DepEd as my guide in
facilitating learning.

2. What can you do as a beginning teacher to:

Promote quality education?

As a beginning teacher, I have to be familiarized first to the Department of Education. I have to put first
in mind and heart the mandate, mission, vision, core values, and the strategic direction of DepEd to
ensure that I am promoting quality education as the department wants me to. I will also make sure that
I will be doing the best that I could in preparing and delivering substantial lessons. I will also create an
environment which is conducive for the students to learn.

Make education accessible to all?

I will make this profession my passion so that I can serve the people with all my heart through ensuring
that I am always at reach by everyone who needs to be educated. I can also give some of my spare time
to the out of school youths to let them experience as well as the teaching and learning process making
education accessible to all.

As a teacher, how do you encourage your students:

To discover their full potential that may contribute for the betterment of the society?

For the learners to discover their full potentials, they should appreciate first the process of learning and
the positive contribution it could bring, not only in their lives but also in the society. Therefore, teachers
shall find a way to access the learners’ affective area, which can be done by providing them activities
that suit their interests and needs.
To apply the competencies prescribed in the curriculum?

I will make sure first that they thoroughly understand what the competencies are and why these are
needed. Upon doing so, they have to put in heart and mind that these must be met and applied not just
inside the classroom but outside. I will be providing them well-planned instructional delivery which does
not solely give them information but also lifelong learning skills.

To reflect and evaluate their home- and culture –based values?

I let my learners evaluate the home and cultural values of other countries through the use audio-visual
materials; let them see the differences of each country have. After that, they will reflect on the
foundation of home and cultural values of the Philippines to its relation to their own.

Which among your specific roles/functions as a teacher can signify your responsibility among your
students and people in the community?

Promoting quality education and making it accessible to everyone. The aforementioned signifies my
responsibility among the students and people in the community for these are the be-all and end-all of
teaching. Delivering substantial instruction to all kinds of learners and extending my service to everyone
are indeed my vital functions.

What plans do you have as a teacher to achieve the learner-centered philosophy?

To achieve the learner-centered philosophy, I have to make my pupils the heart of my teaching and
learning process. I will make sure that my classroom discussion is suitable to all my learners by being
aware of their needs, differences, goals wants and aspirations in life.

What can you do to better serve the learners in relation to learner-centered philosophy?

I can better serve the learners in relation to learner-centered philosophy by knowing each and every one
of my pupils deeply. I have to well-equipped them with skills and knowledge in according with their
needs and wants.

How can you foster partnership and extend linkages to your stakeholders?

I can foster partnership and extend linkages to my stakeholders by including them in the preparation of
my classroom goals and objectives. I will also involve them in the activities wherein they can contribute
to the holistic development of the pupils.

What can you contribute to ensure a child-friendly, gender-sensitive, safe and motivating environment?

To ensure a child-friendly, gender-sensitive, safe and motivating environment. I can create ea learning
environment which is conducive and inclusive. I have to make sure that it is accommodating to the
needs of the different kinds of learners that I will be teaching.
How do you address the uniqueness of each learner?

To address the uniqueness of each learner, I have to adhere to Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences
theory which proves that all learners are different from each other. I can also address this by giving
differentiated tasks which encompass the needs of every learner that I have.

How do you ensure an enabling and supportive environment for effective learning to happen?

To ensure an enabling and supportive environment for effective learning to happen, I will make my
students feel that they are in the learning environment where they can always be motivated to study
and learn. I will also extend my service even outside the classroom to ensure effective learning.

What are some ways to develop lifelong-learners?

To develop lifelong-learners, we have to make sure that the various instructional deliveries will be
provided to them are well-planned. They have to be given differentiated tasks wherein they can use the
competencies needed for their real life application. We do not just teach them what we learn, but how
to learn.

5. My Philosophy in Teaching.
State briefly your philosophy of teaching which spells your vision in entering the teaching profession
towards effective, learner-centered and meaningful teaching experience. It must be something you
believe that will drive you to success and to being a meaningful agent of change to pupils and to
community.

I believe that all learners are entitled of quality education regardless of their status in life. This is the sole
reason why I want to promote quality education and make it accessible to everyone.

I can see that they already graduates equipped with the skills that they need in the real-world. Some are
already starting to establish their names in their chosen path, and some are already successful.

your vision?

I intend to apply a learner-centered philosophy to ensure the attainment of my vision through equipping
them with the 21st century skills that K-12 curriculum is aiming. I also have to let them realize first what
they want in life before I can help them in pursuing what they want.

1. In what concrete ways has this session helped you become a more agentive teacher in
promoting “learner-centered “teaching?

It reminded me to make the students the heart of the teaching learning process. It helped me to
be motivated in knowing each and every one of them to know their needs and wants in life.

2. How has thus session helped you clarify your vision and motive in serving your learners better
and in promoting a learner-centered environment for them?

This session helped clarify my vision and motive to the learner-centered philosophy. It taught
me to align my instructional delivery to the needs of my learners.

3. What is the impact to the Department Mandate, VMV and Strategic Direction in your vocation
as a teacher? How can your understanding of DepEd Mandate and VMV provide impact to your
work as a teacher?

These helped me realize how vital my function is in building the nation, promoting quality
education, and producing students who are well-equipped with lifelong learning skills. Thus, it
rekindled the passion burning within me in aspiring to become a committed teacher.

4. What are your personal beliefs and values that are aligned with the Deped’s VMV?

I believe that everyone is entitled to have quality education and that we should produce
students who possess the core values of DepEd.

5. How can you contribute to improve quality and relevance in education?

I can contribute in improving the quality and relevance of education by being reminded of my
vision so that I can always align everything that I do inside the class.
