Climate   change   is   coming   much   much   faster.     Extraordinarily   extreme

weather patterns.

In order to fight climate change effectively ­ acknowledge that most of our
economy is based on fossil fuel; coal, oil and natural gas.   Oil ­ powers
transportation sector, coal and gas ­ power most electricity.  

In order to sustain our dependence on fossil fuel ­ new sources; offshore
drilling for oil, mountain top removal for coal, fracking for natural gas,
tarseince.  

No such thing as clean fossil fuel.  Exxon and Shell ­ oil sands.

Global  Warming  ­  all   our modes  of transportation,  boats,trains,  planes,

cars ,the way we release our fumes,the way we build our cities, almost
everything we do releases carbon dioxide and that leads to climate change.
Polar  ice  caps   will   melt,  the  seas   will  start   to  rise,   dangerous   weather
patterns, ,floods, droughts, wild fires. 

Artic ­ solid blue ice, now it is ice cream type ice. Its ice but when it starts
to melt, it melts fast.
2040 ­ you’ll be able to sail over the north pole, no more sea ice left in the
artic ocean, we are burning so much gossil fuel that the ice is melting,
artic is the air conditioning for the northern hemisphere, if it goes away,
its going to change currents, weather patterns, make floods and droughts
more catastrophic.

people can check on their cellphones and push for polluting factories to
address their violation.  Media is very helpful, chinese media talks about
climate   change   on   a   constant   basis.     Give   people   data,   empower   the
people.  And the popular support helped motivate China’s policy of green
growth.  Change its plan for renewable energy.  Wind and solar energy.  

Less   develop   countries   with   rising   population   can   make   the   same
transition?   India   ­   3rd  largest   emitter/     Bringing   people   out   of   poverty.
Access of energy is as much a challenge as climate change.   300,000,000
people without power and light.   Take cow dung and make a cake and
burn it and that is heir source of cooking energy.  30% household of india
access to electricity.   India has a vast reservoir of coal, 3 rd  or 4th  largest
reservoir of coal in the world.  Coal is cheap, if you create a problem in the
past, we will create the problem in the future.  If it were that easy then I
would have life US to move to solar.   Lifestyle and consumption at the
center of climate negotiations.

Leo ­ Americans  won’t   change  their  lifestyle, so dependent  to  solve the

climate crisis, on the fact that renewables like solar and wind will become
cheaper   and  cheaper   the   more   money   we  funnel  into   them,   invest   into
them, and ultimately it will solve that problem.   Who will and how will
you invest?  India is doing in more investment in solar, China is investing
more in solar today than US. What is US doing which the world can learn
from?  

People like her are rich enough to withstand the first hit of climate change
but its the poor in India, Africa, Bangladesh, who are impacted today to
what is the first signs of climate change.   We need countries to believe
that climate change  is  real  and urgent  and it  is not  a figment of their
imagination.   Ex. Water rise on the onion farm, they got half the years
rainfall in 5 hours.

these coastal ecosystem that used to be dominated by abundant fish, and
knock   the   whole   system   down   and   reversing   half   a   billion   years   of
evolution.     1   billion   people   depend   on   fisheries   from   coral   reefs   for
virtually all of their protein.  

In the last 30 years 50% of all coral has been lost.  Oceans are like these
big buffer because they absorb co2.  they take up about a 3 rd of co2 that are
dumped into the atmosphere.  So because they are the stabilizing force of
the climate, but the ocean cant do its job fast enough with this absurd rate
of co2 emissions.  

We are taking away the ecosystems that normally help us stabilize the
climate.   Rainforest   also   absorbs   co2   from   the   atmosphere   like   oceans.
They store it on the trunks, the leaves, so the co2 emissions are being held
safe for us, until we clear them and light them on fire. It acts like a carbon
bomb and releases massive co2 emissions back into the atmosphere.  

Sumatra, Indonesia ­ 3 big rainforest areas left in the world, 1. amazon in
south america 2. congco basin in africa 3. southeast asian rainforest which
spans indonesia.  Indonesia ­ where saying fires intentionally set in order
to create palm oil plantation which grows the cheapest vegetable oil in the
world, its in cooking oil, process food, cosmetics, detergents (Burger King,
Walgreens, Nissin, Tyson, Sara Lee, Kraft Heinz, Pepsico, Dorites, Smart
Ones, kraft macaroni and cheese) Expansion of palm oil has taken = 80%
of their forest.  Indonesia is one of the most corrupt countries in the world.
Companies bride government to issue permits for them to start burning
the land.  Forest fires release corpious amount of carbon.  

Beef = releases methane which is worst than co2.

Solar Batteries.   Transition the whole world to sustainable energy = you
need 100 factories.  Carbon Tax ­ tax for any activity that put carbon into
the atmosphere.  Up rise low consumption.

knowledge and understanding our future on earth. Coral reefs will begin
to   drop   less   than   2   degrees,   3­4   degrees   we   will   have   heat   waves,
agriculture will be collapsing in the equator. We can reach a point where
earth   takes   over   and   starts   reinforcing   warming   aka   Tipping   points   =
greenland melting on its entire surface; to a point instead of being a white
surface its a dark surface, and instead of it being a cooler its now a self
heater.  

Germany ­ 30% of your electricity from your solar and wind, 
Denmark ­ produces 100% of its electricity needs from wind on some days.
Total   renewable.     Free   energy   forever   once   you   invest   in   renewable
energy.

Sweden ­ Boost renewables to become the 1st fossil fuel free nation. 

Keeping climate warming to below 2 degrees C, while striving for 1.5.   =

More   drought   in   places   already   dry.     Facts:   Ice   are   melting,   Earth   is
warming, Sea levels are rising.  Stop burning fossil fuel, it'll still warm for
a time then it will start to cool again.
